It has been a few days after the flight, just enough for people to recover and rumors to be circulated. Given that this is not the first case of a garnet injuring an ally in a flight, the Weyrwomen have decided to call the leading members together to discuss the matter. Vl'kan too should be attending. In this in character meeting it will be decided on what to do with Thormyth, and how to approach Garnets in all future cases. Some Weyrs across Pern have begun to blunt their claws and muzzle the dragons. In extreme cases their wings are clipped, or they are exiled from the Weyr.
At this time Trelis has not done anything of the sort, it is up to you as a member basis to discuss options and vote on what to do in character.

For once, J'lan was not late, and neither had he been asleep at his desk. He was still too wound up from what had happened during the Flight a few days before for that.
His hand twinged painfully as Granzth lighted on the ledge outside the Council room, and he carefully jumped down.
You'll be all right, Granzth?
I shall be fine, J'lan. It is not myself I am worried for. Your hand swells a little more each day.
Remember that the Healer said that was normal, Granzth. J'lan managed a smile for him, patting his scales with his free hand. I'll be fine, too. This meeting... A lot hinges on it, I think. I have heard calls for the garnet dragons' wings to be clipped and for them to be permanently muzzled.
Granzth snorted his disapproval, his eyes whirling angrily. Never! They are violent, yes, but that does not mean they should be treated so. They merely need proper discipline, that is all.
I agree, Granzth. Go on, go and see the others. I have a feeling that this Council will be a long one.
He watched as Granzth dipped his head, and then flared his wings, making his way to the nearby ledge where all the dragons of the Council members went during the meetings. Sighing, J'lan squared his shoulders and made his way inside to the Council room, to face his fellows in what he knew would be a very serious conversation.

Bring Klah, I have a feeling that everyone will be needing it...oh, and maybe some breakfast as well?
This is a trial of sorts and a very important meeting, not a breakfast club. Why would I do that Maj?
Males tend to be more compliant when they have been fed? Besides.....it's a gesture of kindness and showing that you care that you are taking your time, and it shows that we understand we will be here for a while.
You're actually making sense. Any more new things you'd like to share?
The last thought came with a mental laugh as Rikula called down for some goods to be sent up. Soon enough there was a large pot of klah and glasses for anyone who would want one, and a few plates of sweetrolls and breakfast meats to share. It really was the least she could do considering this had all been her idea and prompting, she still remembered how it had gone when she had talked to Noraali in the hatching cavern. Pulling her hair back from her face, Rikula nibbled on a sweetroll and sat in her chair waiting for the first person to come. Apparently that was J'lan and she nodded to him before swallowing and gesturing toward the food and klah on the smaller table behind her.
"It's going to be a long day, feel free to grab some breakfast, it's for everyone."
Granzth...
The young queen dipped her head in greeting to the bronze, moving over to nuzzle against his side briefly.

G'lwein slipped away from Samara gently. He studied her face in the light. A few days ago, that sleeping face was happy. A serene angel he couldn't believe loved him. Now, her mouth was turned down in a frown. He knew that once her eyes opened, they would be sorrow filled and the questions would begin again.
Where was Amiith? Why did he not answer her? Why had he abandoned her?
G'lwein didn't know what to do. He got up from the bed and started to quietly put on his clothes. Pants first, followed by boots and shirt. He ran a hand through his hair. The meeting was not for another hour or two, but he couldn't sleep any longer. He knew what this meeting would entail. A decision about the young garnet thormyth was a given. But would his weyr turn to the thirst for blood that the other weyrs had?
Sheogorath sat on his ledge looking at the sky. The large garnet hadn't slept well since that day. He was feeling amiith's loss in a far stronger way than the other dragons of the weyr.
they will decide today mine. Decide what is to be done with him. With us
"Don't worry about yourself or the rest of your color mates Sheo. I won't let anything happen to you. Ehtyrath won't either. Do you believe your mate or Noraali would allow anyone to resort to what the other weyrs are doing?"
I don't know what to think anymore G'lwein mine. I never thought to find myself protective of any human besides you, but he looked over his shoulder to samara's sleeping form. she is precious to both of us now. Your mate is my family, and I promised Amiith that nothing would ever happen to her. Are you sure she's strong enough for what will happen today?
G'lwein sighed as the big garnet pressed his head gently against g'lwein's side. It was Uncharacteristic for him to seek comfort from anyone. G'lwein rubbed his eyeridges.
"I won't let anything happen to either of you. I promise. You can go on to the council chambers. I'm going to walk with samara. I know you don't mind flying with both of us, but I don't know if it's such a good idea with her yet..."
He broke off and looked back at her and sheogorath nudged him. Back toward the bed.
Don't be late mine.
" I won't be. Let them know we'll be there soon."
The large garnet launched himself into the air and made his way to the council chambers. He arrived just a few minutes after Granzth and he greeted the bronze and Majoriith with a serious demeanor.
Granzth. Majoriith. Congratulations on your flight. Mine wants you and yours to know he will be along as soon as his mate is awake and ready.
G'lwein leaned over samara and kissed her softly.
"It's time to wake up wildcat. The meeting is today."

The meeting was today. Vl’kan knew it had been coming. It always came around every time he and Thormyth got in to trouble around the weyr. He winced as he slid his legs out of bed and slowly moved about the room as he got ready. After tightening his boots, he got up and shuffled over to the sleeping, red, mass on the stone couch. I am not going. The coiled mass hissed, opening one red swirling eye to focus on him. “I sincerely doubt they’re expecting you to. Now…where does it still hurt?” Stepping back, Vl’kan looked over the garnets battered body. Even though half of him was covered in numbweed and other salves, the whole room smelled like an infirmary, there must have been a spot he missed or needed reapplying. Vl’kan knew this because of the sharp pain he felt in his chest every time he took a breath. But there was no response. Vl’kan frowned, he should have known better.
“I’ll pick up some more on my way back…just in case.” With that he left, making his way down the hall for the council chambers. It didn’t take him long to reach it and as he stepped through the door Vl’kan noticed he was one of the first to arrive, but not the first. Glancing at the other occupants but only offering a muttered greeting, he helped himself to one of the mugs of klah then took his place off to the side of the room.
------------
You know us dragons talk, K’ienMine. “Hmm? Oh, yes of course. What of it?” Finished buttoning his tunic, K’ien glanced over to where Hyorinmarth was sitting on the ledge. Even if the red brothers are difficult they do not deserve physical restraints. The bronze growled, turning his head to look back at his rider. The man sighed, running a hand through his hair. The whole thing was a mess really. To be honest it even shocked him that other Weyrs had already started implementing such measures.
“I know…I know…” Stepping over to the bronze, he climbed up a leg and settled between two neck spikes. Shard the straps. Without a word, Hyorinmarth took off from his ledge and after circling the bowl, came to land outside the Council room a few minutes later. Sliding down, K’ien looked up at his companion. I feel this is going to take some time… You are my eyes and ears, K’ienMine. I will be waiting. With that Hyorinmarth took off to join the growing number of dragons on the adjoining ledge.
K’ien stood there for a few moments after his bonded had left, just gathering his thoughts, before entering the chambers. He tipped his head in greeting to Rikula and the others, his gaze holding over Vl’kan for an extra moment, before the aroma of klah and food stole his attention. The woman was a saint, no one would of have time to stop at the kitchens for breakfast before coming. The day would have been sure to drag without any klah. So, helping himself to a mug and two sweet rolls, K’ien took his seat. Let it begin.

Pandora wasn’t really sure she knew what she wanted at that moment, she wanted Thormyth and his rider to pay for what happened to Amiith and Samara, neither of them deserved what they got. But there wasn’t much she could really do about that now, and that realization didn’t help the mood she was in either. You must think clearly mine Pandora. I highly doubt Vl’kan really had much control over his dragon at the time. Guarximuth was trying to get his rider to calm herself, and the soft little croon that he gave her did help, but not by much.
I know Guar, maybe by the time we get there I’ll be calmer, and more clear headed. Pandora had never thought that she would have ever been in this position. Then again, she had never thought that she would impress a dragon either. She took her time as she walked to the council rooms, not really knowing what to expect. J’lan and Granzth are already there, along with Majoriith and Rikula, also Sheogorath is there, along with Hyorinmarth and K’ien and Vl’kan are there as well mine Ra. Guarximuth’s voice was soft as he spoke to his rider, giving her one last mental nudge before taking off from where he sat, to land on the ledge with the other dragons.
Guarximuth crooned softly to Majoriith as he landed beside her, before dipping his head respectfully to the other dragons present. Greetings Granzth, Sheogorath, and Hyorinmarth. His gruff voice respectful as he spoke to his fellow dragons. Pandora took a deep breath and steadied herself before knocking and then entering the council room. She tried to be as respectful as she could, but she just couldn’t make herself look at Vl’kan. Hello Rikula, J’lan, K’ien, and Vl’kan She may not have been able to look at Vl’kan, but that didn’t mean that she wasn’t going to be as polite as her dragon wanted her to be at this meeting.

I saw you yesterday I didn't know that it would be the last time You said my name You walked away A moment's lost but never ones forgotten
It was time for the meeting. Wasn't it? Or it was quickly approaching. The Weyrwoman tightened her braid as she curled it and pinned it into a bun at the back of her head, near the base of her neck. She straightened her tunic again. She was not exactly.. pleased with this particular meeting. Just the opposite in fact. She took a deep breath.
They may be difficult... but they are still family. I have my own sons of their color. My sons have been difficult, and I am not always proud of them... but they are truly wonderful young dragons. I believe my daughter sees that. But I do not know of her rider. The Queen was solemn as she glided to the ledge where the others gathered, backwinging to land quite lightly on the ledge.... for such a large dragon at least. Her eyes were whirling with hints of yellow. Her worry was nearly palpable as she moved in to the midst, sitting down and curling her tail around her paws as she sat. She looked at each dragon in turn. Majoriith, Hyorinmarth, Guarximarth, Granzth, and, my mate, Sheogorath. It is good to see you all. She moved to her mates side and curled up next to him, making herself comfortable for the long meeting that was to come. She nuzzled his neck gently before setting her eyes back to the others around the circle.
Noraali entered quietly, standing in the entrance for a moment to take in who was there and noting the food. "A good move, Rikula," she praised the other gold rider, though she did not move to get any herself. She didn't feel her stomach could handle it at the moment. She nodded to each in turn. "It is good to see you all here. J'lan, K'ien." Her eyes lingered for a while on K'ien until she shifted her gaze back to Pandora. "And congratulations, Pandora, as our newest leader." She smiled and walked over to take her seat. They still had more to wait on.
She had records in hand. Records she had collected and notes she ahd taken down about the Garnets as given by Ehtyriath as she spoke with the other Queen's. Much of it was grim and she wasn't sure what would happen to the Garnet sub-kings. It was going to be a very long meeting. And sh was not happy about it. Though she was rather glad that Rikula had taken initiative.... but the better trained she seemed and better trained sshe got and teh closer they came to having another queen... well the shorter the time would be until the Weyr her dragon had been born at would try to call her back. But of course, that wasn't the foremost thought on her mind...
She looked at Vl'kan. He and his dragon were. And Sheogorath and Gl'wein. All the Garnets.
It was then that Samara entered with Gl'wein... and things got a bit... out of hand...
Samara looked up. She didn't feel like "Wildcat". His wildcat was another person. she was just a shell. She wasn't a person at all. She looked up at him slowly and nodded, sitting up. She wanted to feel something... anything. She stood and followed him slowly, leaning against him most of the way. She couldn't be bothered with her appearance. The pain was too much. It was difficult to even breathe, much less walk. She felt very dead inside.
She looked around the council room. All the riders. Those blasted riders. And... one in particular. That one. The one who had killed Amiith! She would gut him!
Anger flew through her like a storm and she was instantly moving, launching herself at him. She didn't say a word or make a single noise. She just lunged with no warning - no hesitation. One thought consumed her whole being.... Kill. That was all. There was nothing else. She wanted to kill him. He didn't stop Thormyth. He probably didn't even try. He had let him fly. He was to blame.
For a skilled fighter, Samara was considerably clumsy - but who wouldn't be after having half yourself ripped away from you only a few days ago. Who wouldn't feel hollow and alone with their dragon gone? She hardly noticed Gl'wein or the others in the room now. So focused was she on harming this person that all else was drowned out. It was not just anger and fury.... but fear. He was going to take all that was left of her too. She simply new it.

Okay, so not all of them were here, but some were. Rikula leveled a gaze at the garnetrider as he came in, for a moment feeling sorry for Vl'kan. It was not his fault that his dragon behaved as he did, in that case it was a flight and sometimes dragons did get injured. That was usually when a Queen lashed out, or a Sub-Queen in the case of the newer two colors. For a male to just go out of his way to defy his Queen and then kill another dragon, it showed how dangerous the color could be. Then there were the other reports both of their own Garnets and those around Pern. Though Rikula didn't agree with all the various measures taken, she did think that something needed to be done.
Hence, the meeting she had talked Noraali into holding. When the other goldrider entered, Rikula dipped her head in turn, smiling softly at the praise. No matter how much the younger woman may deny she enjoyed the recognition, some part of her still liked to know that she was doing her job well. If she was going to be pushed into a way of living, she may as well do well at it. Before she could start saying anything, mainly opening up with the letters, yes multiple, they had received from other Weyrs concerned with the recent events however, Samara walked in. On some level Rikula understood why G'lwein would bring his 'mate with him. She was not well, however keeping her and Vl'kan in the same room was just wherrybrained of the Weyrleader, as would soon be seen.
Rikula just moved as Samara did, her training as a guard taking place over the fact that she probably should have done nothing at all. Knocking herself into the other woman, her leg placing itself around her to place her off balance, Rikula threw one arm around Samara's neck and locked her other arm with it in a choke-hold, jamming the woman's body half-way on the ground and half-way against the table. "That's enough Samara. Justice will be seen for what his dragon has done, but not like this. Do you understand me? Stand down. I need you calm, and I need you to think. Amiith would not have wanted you to do this. He would have wanted your head level and understanding so that any and all punishment and future repercussions will be dealt with fairly, not on one dragon's basis."

Sheogorath crooned a welcome to his mate as she joined them. He didn't bother to actually speak to any of them, but when the gold settled beside him he nuzzled her neck in a rather sedated way. He tried to control his emotions but tiny twinges of apprehension slipped through his guard. They were deciding his future at this thing too after all.
***
G'lwein had walked with samara at her own pace, keeping his arm around her waist giving her all the support he could incase she needed it. He wasnt sure if bringing her was the right move, but every time he doubted himself, he thought she deserved to know and deserved to have a voice in this. So bring her he did. While today represented his worst fears, he hoped that some justice for Amiith would put some bit of life back into her, and he was definitely not disappointed.
As they walked in, he greeted everyone already assembled.
"Noraali, J'lan, K'ien, Rikula." He turned his gaze to the other garnet rider, not intending to speak, but at that moment his wildcat seemed to have found her strength again. He grabbed at her shirt to stop her, and his grip would have held too, if that chit of a junior weyrwoman hadn't decided to act. Her pinning Samara to the table with her arms at her throat lasted only half a second before his rage set in.
He took one step, and grabbed a fist full of rikula's hair, forcing her head back with his face right beside her ear. "Touch her one more time.. Once more, and I swear to you gold rider or no you wont take another breath." He ripped her grip away from Samara's neck and forcibly picked the girl up tossing her none too gently to put himself between the girl and his mate. He'd never wanted to kill the girl before, but she was literally begging for it now.
He slid his arms around Samara and pulled her back into a standing position against him. This was as much to protect her as it was to protect V'lkan. He knew if he let his mate go, the other garnet rider was dead.
"Samara. The council will decide and you will have a voice here."
Reguarding their senior weyrwoman with a determined look in his eyes he addressed her directly pointedly ignoring the girl he would like to bleed dry. The feeling was mutely echoed by the large garnet on the shelf, and it was a testament to just how much self control the red dragon had that he only loosed an angry rumble.
"Samara was the one hurt by this. She has a right to speak here, and she has the right and need to see justice done. I accept full responsibility for anything that happens as a result of her actions here today, but i swear on my life... Noraali, you know me and you know this to be true. Anyone touches her, and they wont be treated as gently as Rikula."
He was dangerously quiet, and his normally happy demeanor had faded into the one that everyone feared just before they died. His eyes were dark, his face void of most emotion, but the fire of anger burned in his eyes. Thus making his point, he pressed his lips gently to Samara's temple. As he led her back to one of the seats he pointedly ignored all of them to address samara. The kindness came back to his eyes.
"Samara, You're not like Thormyth wildcat. Give the council the chance to do something about him first..." He reached over and plucked a warm mug of klah from a tray and settled it between samara's hands. "Drink." Once he was sure she would not throw the klah at v'lkan's head and he was sure she knew attacking v'lkan again would be stopped by him before it even began, he turned back to his companions.
"Pandora, welcome to the ranks." He certainly hoped the girl could deal with Rikula better than he had been able to. Somehow, especially now, every time he saw her he just wanted to kill her. He gave himself a little mental shrug and grabbed a cup of klah for himself settling in beside Samara. That thought earned a little chuckle from Sheogorath. His had no caution when it came to Samara. And the Garnet would have it no other way.

K’ien had already been moving to his feet when Samara had started for Vl’kan, ready to intervene for the sake of the grief-stricken woman. But Rikula beat him to the punch. Moving faster then he thought was humanly possible, he witness their Junior Weyrwoman restrain and slap a chokehold on the former brownrider. Not exactly how he would have gone about handling the situation but there it was. So really he should have been expecting G’lwein to act out, he was a Garnet rider after all, but what came next took K’ien completely off guard.
Moving quickly, he kicked back his chair with enough force to send it toppling over, rage written all over he face as he witnessed this man grabbing and throwing the Weyrwoman around. Moving to Rikula’s side, he extended a hand in an offer to help her to her feet. It was a good thing she at least didn’t appear to be injured, not physically anyway. Snarling, he spun around to face G’lwein, eyes flashing with pent up anger. “I don’t give a damn who you think you are, but if you ever lay a hand on a woman again, especially our Weyrwoman, in my presence I will personally make sure you can never use that hand again.” Thank Farnath there was a table between the two men right now, or the bronzerider would have surely launched himself at the other man.
“She,” he jabbed his finger in Samara’s direction. “Shouldn’t be here. Not in the state she’s currently in. Yes, she’s suffered a terrible loss, which is why we’ve gathered. But to force her to be in the same room as him?” K’ien jerked his head in Vl’kan’s general direction. “Is just cruel.”
-----------
Vl’kan really didn’t react all that much to the explosion of activity in the room. Having been consistently drunk for the past sevenday, this was the only moment he’s had a clear, albeit throbbing, head. Everything seemed to play out to slowmotion though. So this was the woman who’s dragon his Thormyth cut down? Well she didn’t look like much. She definitely didn’t fit the profile of people they usually set out to hurt and Vl’kan was sure she had never even been on his “list” in the first place. So why? Why this woman? He could have asked Thormyth, in fact he did, but the Garnet stayed silent as always. He didn’t need a reason to do the things he did.

Shock and revulsion filled J'lan at the speed of the events. Samara going for V'lkan, Rikula interfering, and then G'lwein attacking Rikula! This was just too much, and he shot to his feet and over to Rikula, helping her up and checking her over to make sure she wasn't hurt.
He didn't say anything to G'lwein. He didn't need to. Anger smoldered deep in his heart, but he controlled it, refusing to let it free. Outside, Granzth rumbled angrily too, and J'lan quickly checked on him to make sure he wouldn't do anything. Concentrate on Majoriith, Granzth. Don't let her do anything she'll regret later.
Granzth sent his agreement of this through their link, and crooned to Majoriith comfortingly, knowing the golden queen would be highly upset by these events.

Everything seemed to explode around Pandora. Samara had just entered and it didn’t seem to take the woman long to decide that she wanted Vl’kan to die, then Rikula stepped in, and then G’lwein was grabbing Rikula’s hair and pulling her off of Samara. She barely had enough time to breathe with the amount of movement going on around her. By the time her mind finally caught up to her G’lwein was welcoming her to the ranks of Weyrsecond. Outside Guarximuth was growling loud enough to be heard by everyone within the room, a sound that was almost perfectly echoed by the look on his rider’s face as she stalked over to Rikula and placed herself protectively between her and G’lwein.
Thank you for your welcome G’lwein, but I suggest that you think twice before laying a hand on Rikula again. She was trying to help avoid a blood-bath. We’ve had enough loss without Samara killing Vl’kan, no matter how much she believes he deserves it. Pandora’s eyes were as wild as the day she had first arrived in Trelis as she spoke. Even if she hadn’t been the winner of Rikula and Majoriith’s flight, her reaction wouldn’t have been any different. She understood that G’lwein wanted to protect Samara, but that wasn’t an excuse to cause harm to a Weyrwoman. They were all stretched to their emotional limits, and yet there was still business to be conducted, that’s why they were all in this room together. They were here to decide what to do about Vl’kan and his garnet, and about all garnets within Trelis.
Guarximuth moved so that his body was between Majoriith and all the other dragons assembled, his eyes whirling a strange mixture of protective anger, and worry. Worry not mine Queen, mine Ra and I shall keep you and your rider safe. We will not fail either of you again. His gruff voice was soft as he spoke to his golden queen, again repeating the promise Pandora and himself had made to the two of them. He knew that there wasn’t much he could do about what was going on with the humans inside the council meeting room, but at least he could be there to comfort Majoriith, and to show her that Pandora would make sure that no-one ever laid their hands on Rikula in a violent fashion ever again.

Noraali was knocked aside as Samara lunged for Vl'kan. The Weyrwoman picked herself up and dusted herself off, unnoticed in the hussle. "That is enough!" her voice was loud and clear. "Everyone take a seat and shut up." She looked at them all with brimming irritation. "Samara, darling, if you would please join me here." She reached out a hand to hte other woman who was still breathing hard and holding her cup of klah shakily. She stared at the Weyrwoman for a long minute then walked over to her slowly. "Samara... Can you tell me what you said before... why did you want to come with Gl'wein?" The other woman shifted uncomfortably under the Weyrwoman's gaze and swallowed. "Because... If I didn't... I would make myself.... go Between." Her voice almost sounded disused as she spoke and she fidgeted uncomfortably. Noraali nodded slowly then turned to Rikula.
"Rikula. Please refrain from acting as such towards a member of our Weyr again. Gl'wein would have likely handled it much better had he been give then chance. You do not need to restrain a rider with a choke hold. Now. Everyone. What's done is done. Gl'wein brought Samara for her own safety. Any of you that know her should know that no one would be able to stop her aside form her 'mate." She fixed everyone with a glare. "I am not pleased with how things have gone, but anticipating such things, I have asked that Inali attend this meeting. She knows what it is like to lose a dragon.... though she has ReImpressed. But she may be able to help us... and help Samara. I have also asked for the young mind healer Imiika to attend." She fixed her gaze on Vl'kan. She was certain this would make him uncomfortable - as it should.
"Now then. We're going to start so we can hopefully get this over with before more words are said. Pandora. Please move to Rikula's side and remain there. Gl'wein, you and Samara will take up the far end of the room from Vl'kan. Keep a hold of her." She was just trying to figure out the best way to deal with this. She looked at them all again. "Now then. Vl'kan. I am going to be blunt. You have decidedly lost all control of your bonded. A dangerous thing with a Garnet. You suffered the loss of your mate. I am sorry for that. But you cannot remain in this state for ever. This is the very first time I have seen you sober since I came here and one of the rare times I have seen you. I do-"
She was cut off then by the voice of another woman as she entered - it was Imiika. "I don't think that your mate would have wanted you to live like this. After all, from what I hear, she charged you with looking after your daughter. A charge that so far, you have failed in. Else I would not be taking such a large part in her rearing now."

It seemed that almost as soon as she got a hold of Samara, she was being wrenched away. The moment that G'lwein's hand was on her though, Rikula let go of his weyrmate, her eyes flashing defiance at the garnetrider. No one touched her, especially without her permission. She was not something to be tossed around, and yet as the rider threatened her, he tried to do just that. Perhaps G'lwein was strong, and perhaps he was a killer at one point in his life or another, but Rikula was no young woman who knew nothing of defending herself. Though smaller, she stood her ground, glaring back at the man as she stumbled back a step or two before catching herself and standing.
No, she was not thrown to the ground as he had intended, but the animalistic behavior that the man used now perplexed her. He was a man, not a dragon, and certainly not his garnet dragon. The few who went against him to aid her were mainly ignored, she did not need help. Instead she focused on Noraali as the Weyrwoman finally spoke out, giving orders and reprimanding Rikula. She's as much of a dimglow as G'lwein if she thinks I will be sorry for what I did. Before she could say anything though to defend herself, Noraali continued to speak, and then a new comer came as well.
Though she had never seen Iirla, by the reactions around her Rikula could guess who this woman was. The fact that Noraali had the guts to bring her here though, when so many were still raw from the loss of their past goldrider...what was she thinking, and not even discussing it with Rikula? Chewing on her lips and letting her hands ball into fists at her sides, Riku's head snapped around as another, third voice, chimed in. That one she knew, and her body tensed as a chill crept up her spine from the cold calculation it held.
"I see what has become of the Weyr I left. Have you all forgotten what it was like to work together? Noraali, I will speak to you and Rikula later about working together instead of undermining the efforts of your Junior. One cannot blame our young rider for trying to intercede in events when their prior circumstances were out of her control. As one who has lost their dragon however, I understand the need to stay close to someone you trust. G'lwein and Samara's opinions though should have been documented away from this council though. There is no reason that she should be here, at least none that could not be approached in a different manner."
Inali paused for a moment, ice blue eyes level with the Weyrwoman and Weyrleader as she glided in from the entrance, the eerily still form of Ghost a statue on her shoulder. Slipping her gaze from the leaders to those around her, she settled in on Imiika and narrowed her sight, distaste clear in their depths. "It is certainly not ideal to have brought Iirla's sister here today with the situation so hard to deal with already. That helps no one. However, I suppose since the runner is out of its stall already, we must run with it....welcome to Trelis Imiika." Once more her gaze slipped to Noraali, disappointment in their depths before going to G'lwein.
"As for my use Noraali, do you forget it was my Gold Loraketh that first clutched Garnet Emiath, the beginning of his color? I have seen the dragons and whers and firelizards in question far longer than you have, and I have seen them in a place where there is no restriction on them at all. If you think one dragon's death is bad, you cannot comprehend what it was like at the rebellion where multiple riders fled bonded to ones of that color...and as for you G'lwein...if you threaten a rider in my Weyr ever again, you will regret it. Do not let it slip your mind Garnetrider that I know who you are, and I know what you are. I gave you and your mate and your friend your lives when you conspired against my home; J'degar has not forgotten that, neither should you."
Voice chilled with a deadly threat, the greenrider finally settled down in a chair, her arms coming to hold her firelizard as the creature moved down into her grasp. Where was that weyrmate of hers? Speaking of leaders and people that actually knew what they were talking about...T'rian had had been right behind her before Rudith had told her rider that there was trouble. Meanwhile, Rikula was just silently chewing her lip, watching and listening. She did not miss the part that was meant between G'lwein and the greenrider, but she did not say anything either. Part of her wanted to thank the once Weyrwoman, and the other part of her wanted her to damn her for saying anything at all.
Through all of this Majoriith was just a stoic being, her eyes spinning an eerily calm grey-blue with only hints of green or orange when something alarmed her rider. For a moment she feared to say anything, that with one word she could break the fragile silence that had fallen over everyone once Noraali had spoken, but there was another that was talking now and that silence may be as good as gone, so she finally decided that it could do nothing but help to speak up for herself.
I do not wish for more fighting. There has been enough already Riders of Trelis. What we need now is to work together, to discuss this as a family and work toward a final destination. I do not like the idea of any dragon being restrained or singled out, but Thormyth went against an order when he killed Amiith. The fault is not on his rider, but with the dragon, and with us. We are the ones who have failed, we are the ones that have not properly taught our young how to act and how to treat each other. My brothers are instinctual and primal in their thoughts and actions, it has proven useful in some cases and detrimental in others. It is no one's fault but our own if we have been unable to adjust the way we teach our weyrlings to find ways to let riders learn to cope and curb their dragons' intentions and desires.
"I agree with my dragon. Something must be changed, and that is why we have come together. Other Weyrs have written us speaking of what they have tried to do to cope with the trouble that Garnets have caused. Whers and Dragons both, and even Firelizards in some cases. Telgar and Igen have reported that they have blunted their talons and muzzled them if their riders cannot learn to reason with their bondeds. High Reaches has done similar things, but only as a last resort. Ista has had to do this as well as clip the wings of one of their Whers after it went on a blood rage and killed a Sub-Queen and maimed three others that tried to help her. Southern...I can only imagine what Southern has done. They have not answered, but those who have been there or heard of how they treated the new colors during the Rebellion's days can only imagine."

More than once T’rian had cursed himself for having identical twin girls, and has been completely convinced that the two of them were out to give him a heart attack. He knew that he was late for the meeting, and until just a few seconds ago he had been right behind Inali, but then he had seen something moving out of the corner of his eye, so he had turned to find out what it was. When he had turned back around he found that he had lost Inali. He smacked himself in the forehead, slowly trailing his hand down his face in exasperation. Of all the times his girls had played pranks on him, this was the worst.
T’rian yelped loudly as he felt something collide with his back, bowling over and making him land hard, on the ground. He groaned as he pushed himself up from the ground, feeling his nose to make sure that it hadn’t broken when he had landed. After inspecting his face, he quickly turned around to see who it was that had knocked him over. Unfortunately for him, no-one was there. He growled to himself as he righted himself, and started to quickly walk down the hall towards the council rooms. It really just was not his day. A black blur flashed in front of him, causing him to skid to a halt, wondering what in all of Pern had just ran across his path.
Great, Inali’s going to have my head for being so late! His words were a quiet, hurried, whisper as he started jogging down the hall. He was still wondering what it was that had knocked him over when he felt something tugging at the back of his shirt. He turned his head around to see what it was, and forgot to pay attention to where he was going. As the result, he ran into the wall when he should have turned to go down the hallway that held the council rooms. He rubbed the left side of his face, which he could feel was already starting to bruise and swell from where it had hit the hard wall.
At least he was finally in sight of the council room’s door, and he let out a sigh of relief before taking off like a bullet out of a gun. He was at a dead run as he neared the door, and he slid to a halt outside the door. Knocking politely, he entered the room huffing and puffing, trying to catch his breath. I truly am sorry to be so late. He knew better than to say that at least one of his daughters had been out to get him in trouble with their mother. After regaining a little bit of his breath, he went and took his seat next to Inali, hoping beyond all hope, that she wouldn’t be too horribly mad at him for being so late. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As loathe as Pandora was to being ordered around by anyone other than her dragon, she didn’t think it would end well if disobeyed the Weyrwoman’s order. Not that staying by Rikula’s side was a bad thing, she just didn’t like being told what to do in any situation. She knew that Rikula could defend herself, but Ra just had a tendency to get a little…agitated…when she thought someone was acting inappropriately, and the way G’lwein had treated Rikula was absolutely inappropriate in Ra’s book. She remained silent as she watched two more people enter the room, one she knew, and the other she didn’t.
Pandora dipped her head respectively to Inali as the woman entered. She had known Inali for quite some time without actually knowing the other woman. No matter what though, she was still a pretty defiant person in her own right. She may not have leaned back in the chair she was sitting in like she had wanted to, but she did cross her arms in front of her chest in an attempt to keep a hold on all of the things she wanted to say, and could feel start to try to push their way up and out of her mouth. A silent feeling from her dragon made her wonder if she had eaten before coming here.
Guarximuth shook his head slightly at the feelings he was getting from his rider, and knew perfectly well that if she had eaten something, she wouldn’t be as agitated. He crooned softly to Majoriith, reaching out to lightly nuzzle her neck. It was only morning, and already he could tell that it would be a rather long day for most of the riders now sitting in the council room. It did make him wonder though, what exactly was going to be the result of this meeting, for he knew that some within the Weyr would be more than happy to be rid of the Garnets entirely, even with his animosity towards Thormyth, he thought the Weyr would be rather boring without the other sub-kings around.
