Cayin liked to walk in straight lines. It wasn't a conscious effort, by any means. He simply tended to zone out and let his feet take him where they wanted to go. This often meant that he headed in a particular direction until something in his path forced him to change direction. That was something he didn't bother to think about though. No, Cayin was much too busy eying the clouds overhead and listening to the chirps and songs of the local birds and, of course, his two firelizards. His blue played around overhead, chasing the other critters, but Lehr, his protective little white, hadn'tleft his shoulder. Every once and a while, Lehr would let out a little chirp and tug on Cayin's ear to change his direction, but otherwise he was silent.
"Look Lehr, that cloud looks an awful lot like you, doesn't it?" Cayin finally asked, pointing up at an indistinct white blob in the sky. It was enough to distract Lehr from his vigil, causing the white to lift his head and stare, cocking his head in confusion. Tht moment of distraction was all it took for Cayin, in his endless luck, to step right on a trap of some sort.
One minute he was right side up, the next he found himself dangling from a tree by one foot. His flits squeaked their worries about his sudden unsidedownness, but Cayin seemed unphased by the entire ordeal. In fact, he let his arms hang down over his head and began humming. Lehr attempted to grab hold of a sleeve and tried pulling, but it simply resulted in Cayin rocking back and forth, upside down, like a human pendulum.
"Relax Lehr," He grinned, "It's a perfect day for hanging out."
