ALIDAN
Name: Alidan
Pronunciation: Al-id-an
Age: 19
Season Born In: Early Summer
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance:
Alidan is a thin strip of a man. There isn't much muscle on his body, in fact he is rather scrawny. His skin is pale and pasty, the result of him spending most of his time indoors. That being said his complexion is far from perfect, he is all too prone to outbreaks of acne. At times it seems like he isn't quite a full man yet despite his age, his voice prone to cracking occasionally. He does not have any style whatsoever to his hair, instead letting it lay there, dank and thin. It is light brown in coloration and would probably be rather nice if properly taken care of. His eyes are round and deep blue in color, really popping against his face.
Personality:
Alidan lives, eats, drinks, and breathes rules. Everything absolutely must be in order, everything will fall apart if not. This is something that he is very eager to stress to everyone else, though he can be rather over dramatic about it. At times he can make it seem like the whole weyr will blow up if someone stays up an hour too late. If he catches someone else breaking a rule he will be quick to nark on him, and he practices what he preaches. Rarely, if ever, will you find him doing something even faintly against the rules.
Most of the time he can be rather stubborn and set in his beliefs. This can get rather annoying at times as he has some rather traditionalist views. Girls take care of the home and wear dresses, men go out and do all the work, males impress male dragons and females impress females. The hierarchy MUST be maintained at all costs, always defer to someone that ranks above you, unless they ride a mutant of course. Mutants are nothing but horrible, warped things that should not be allowed to exist. While he has no aspirations of power he is all too willing to share these views with his fellow candidates.
Sometimes Lornar is prone to being a bit of a suck up. He will find the nearest authority figure and kiss their butt like nobody's business, acting like they are the greatest thing to ever touch Pern. Of course this will change the moment they lose their position or can't do anything for him but he will be loyal while it lasts. Relationships are viewed in a similar way, something there to make his life better and worthless if they can't.
Family: Alitica - Mother - Weaver
Dalinan - Father - Weaver
Location: Trellis Weyr
Rank: Dragon Candidate
History: Born in Solace Hold to a very traditionalist couple that was determined to raise their child themselves Alidan never really had much of a shot at becoming a free thinker. Instead he grew up believing in tradition and following the rules, doing his work while the other holdbrats went out and player. While his parents were rather fond of him the other holdbrats were never too eager to go and play with him. He didn't mind though, he didn't need them. He would lead a good life through following the rules and they would all fail.
As he grew up and his peers had relationships and lived their lives Alidan stayed inside, happy to have nothing to do with the outside world. There was a girl around his age, Latica, that saw this and was not pleased. She attempted to lure him outside of his little bubble, trying to get him to go out and live life. She even tried to befriend him, something the other kids had long given up on. Unfortunately it failed miserably and, after six months of trying, she stormed off in failure.
He had just turned nineteen when a Trellis rider was visiting the hold and noticed him. The rider said that his dragon claimed that he had the potential to be a rider, he need only ask and come to Trellis Weyr. He was about to deny when his father pulled him to the side and told him to go, it would be a chance for him to show those riders how a proper person acts. Although he did not say it this was actually a ploy to get his son, who was failing to show any signs of independence, away from him. So he reluctantly went to the weyr, agreeing to stand for a few hatchings.
