Order of the Silver Dragon: Yachi Weyr

In the time before Lessa's flight, sometime in the 6th Pass, Southern Weyr's senior gold had clutched a queen. Searchriders traveled all over Pern, looking for the next queenrider. When the day came that the eggs were ready to hatch, all of Southern was watching when the golden egg hatched to twin queens, the first in Pern's history. One was the normal golden color, the other was a light silvery color; a mutation. The twin queens successfully Impressed to a boy and a girl respectfully and so began the controversy and rumors. On one side, many believed that the silver queen and the male goldrider was for the good of Pern, while the other side believed that the birth of the silver and the Impression of the gold was a curse. Sensing that their lives were in danger, the gold and silverriders fled, along with many followers, east of Southern, deep into the swamplands. They then found an underground network of caverns and tunnels. They decided to settle down and name it Yachi Weyr. Two turns passed and Yachi had doubled in size, thanks to their discovery of fertile soil to grow crops and nutritious swampgrasses to feed the animals. Suddenly, Southern Weyr attacked by surprise. Many people and dragons died that day, and it seemed that Yachi would be wiped out. But then emerging from Between was a magnificent white dragon from 3 Passes in the future. The white dragon told both Yachi and Southern to put aside their differences and work together. Both Yachi and Southern agreed and became allies. Now, with the twin queens nearing their mating flights, a new enemy approaches.
