RissaMine? Is everything alright? It's been a long time since you wanted to come to the ocean.
[/i] Aellieth's voice was, as always, a soothing balm to her thoughts, and for a moment, the young woman didn't even turn from her gazing at the ocean,he hair whipping about her face messily. Aellieth waited another moment, before she moved closer to her rider, nose pressed tight against her shoulder before Rissa started. "Oh. Aelli." What would have happened if Aellieth hadn't come into ehr life? What would have happened if the Obsidian had never found her? The few months that she was at Rindell before Aellieth had found her had been rotten. Not just for her, but for everyone around her. The more that she'd panicked about her life being taken away, the more snappish and snarly she had been. She'd yelled, kicked, screamed-- You were afraid.[/i] Yes. Yes she had been. Very afraid, and now the very people she'd fought tooth and nail against, she was trying to protect. There was bound to be someone at Trelis plotting against them and... "What's wrong with me, Aellieth? Why didn't I go home the moment you could fly? My mother... she must be so worried, she probably thinks I'm dead... And yet here I am--" We are protecting people, our people. It is as simple as that... Would you like to go home, RissaMine?[/i] That was just the crux of it, the Obsidian thought. Her rider, so sure of mind and stable, didn't know what she wanted. Of anything else, Aellieth could feel that turmoil, that sense of duty pulling her two ways, and that was why she didn't need to answer. At least not out loud. Still, Rissa felt she needed to give one. Arms wrapped tightly about herself, eyes distant, she shrugged. "I don't know. I know that I'm-- we're - needed here. Rindell... Is Rindell home now? Can it be home when it was forced on me? And just what are we going to do when you rise--" What do you mean, what are we going to do? Do you not like men and women, Mine? You flirt--[/i] "That's not the part I'm worried about! What if I have to lead something? Or what if something goes wrong and I can't protect you? Or them? Or... I just want someone to guide me... I miss mother most at times like this." So.. you are not worried about my flight, so much as the repercussions? Can you not enjoy it and the idea of it and worry about everything else as it comes?[/i] "... Why would I enjoy thinking about that? I'm trying to have a serious moment here!" And that, precisely, was why Aellieth was laughing at her.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Virys...come here. Stop a sniffing those....I told you not to put your nose in them.
Shaking her head and frowning slightly, Thalia finished spinning the braid of white hair up into a knot, straightening from her sitting position in order to stride calmly to the ebony flit. Her little Virys, always the trouble maker. The creature in question just looked up at His with an innocent chirp, tilting his head to one side before keening a soft note. Ouch, his nose hurt!
"Of course it hurts. You stuck it in some brambles. What am I going to do with you?" Viyrs whined again, hobbling over and pretending to be far worse than he actually was. When that only got an exasperated sigh, the little black and grey creature rubbed his side against Thalia's leg. He had a thorn still stuck in his neck, see? See?
Bending over to grab the firelizard up in her arms, Thalia whistled for Nehma to follow, the female canine sniffing delicately in the direction of the brambles before growling. Blackwing was stupid. Whitefur warned Blackwing, but Blackwing was stupid. Nehma was not stupid, she listened to Whitefur! Jumping slightly to keep up with her owner, she growled again as a semi familiar scent caught her attention.
There was a Largewing nearby. Largewings could be trouble. Barking once at Thalia, a second time and louder when the first was ignored, Nehma bounded off in the direction of the dragon she had scented, slowing and crawling closer to not be seen. Thalia followed happily enough, interested in what had gained her canine's attention.
She may not have Tekhal with her, but she was not a young woman who balked at te idea of an adventure. Not entirely at least. No, Thalia didn't mind exploring the island some and meeting new people. She couldn't help over hearing the one sided, one one sided from her perspective, conversation and when she finally spoke up Thalia had the words out before even considering they probably shouldn't have been said at all.
"Serious moments are never when you really want to have them though, just when you must have them."

Aellieth at least, had noticed the young woman approaching far before her rider, and so she tilted her head a little, making no sound, right up until Rissa whirled to face her with her speech. For a fleeting moment, there might have been irritation on her features, but she'd recently snuck up on F'lon so she really couldn't say anything about people approaching her from behind. The thing was, she wasn't sure she recognised the girl. That hair was certainly distinctive, but why couldn't she place the face? SHe was accustomed with almost everyone at Rindell, she made an effort to be. She is not with the hulking bodyguard today.
[/i] Aellieth offered helpfully, and just like that, Cadrissa knew who she waas looking at. "You're right, of course. It simply helps when your dragon isn't trying to have a play. You're Thalia, aren't you?" What kind of bonded would she be if she didn't help Aellieth and know all her "people"? Aellieth may not have been the senior of the new weyr, but she still considered the people in Rindell her people, people she had to protect and love and watch out for - and thus, so did Cadrissa. It was hard to share her mind with someone and not feel as she did on certain matters. After a moment, the young Obsidian rider moved closer to the other girl, offering her hand in a warm greeting. So she hadn't been expecting company, that didn't mean she couldn't enjoy it. "I'm Cadrissa of Aellieth, most call me Rissa though. Is your flitter alright?" At the worried tone in her rider's voice, Aellieth instantly scooted closer, eying the canine with wariness before lowering her nose to Thalia, eyes whirling a gentle worry. He is alright, isn't he? Is your canine afraid? I will move if that is the case.[/i] [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Yes, I am Thalia. Viyrs is okay, or at least he will be."
Looking down at the ebony firelizard in her arms the girl worked out a few of the protrusions from his hide, smoothing over the puckered and upset surface with gentle fingers. It will teach you at least to keep your nose out of things it shouldn't be looking into at least. Or so she hoped, more than likely that lesson would soon be forgotten however. Such was the way with her firelizard though. He was somewhat forgetful, and just as much so he was clingy and playful. The three did not often mix well together.
"Well Cadrissa, it is good to meet you. I do not suppose you have any oil with you and your dragon though, it would be useful for his hide."
It did not hurt to mention it at least, not that the rider would already know that. For a moment Thalia scolded herself for not thinking sooner that if it had crossed Cadrissa's mind already she would have mentioned it, but then she quickly pushed that thought away as well. She needed to think calmly, eloquently and just relax. Forcing her shoulders to release some of the tension they held now that she was in human company, and especially without her body guard, Thalia took a measuring look at the rider in front of her.
She had heard some about Aelliath and her rider, but not much given that she came from a very different place. Well, different in some respects at least. They were rumors mostly, but still far better rumors than when Noita, or even Eiko, was involved with the rebellion. This time at least both rider and dragon were rumored to be much kinder than their predecessors. Pulling the last of the thorns from her firelizard's hide, she shook her head as the unfamiliar voice of the Obsidian entered her mind.
"Nehma is fine, but thank you. She just takes a moment to access that things are all right."
Yes, everything was fine now. Nehma did not mind these ones. This was a LargeWing and another Human, and it was not one of the bad LargeWings. It was a good one, or so it smelled. Nuzzling her master's side, the canine wagged her tail, but her calculating eyes never left the form of the dragoness and her rider.
