"I swear on your red hide, you little shit, if you do not- Ow! Hey!"
Spitting out his man's tunic, Strun leapt off the candidate's shoulder and took wing as he glided across the room. The blond sprinted after him, but pfft! He was but a man. Strun was a dragon. And not only did dragons have more legs, but they also had wings, and his human would never be able to catch up with that. With a triumphant crow, he dropped out of the sky to snatch his original prize. A towel.
Towels, he was beginning to find, were almost as delightful as paper. While it was a bit more difficult to rip, it made a different, equally as wonderful sound when he tore fiber from fiber. Crrrrrrrrrrckt! And oh, wonderful! It shredded into strips! Perfect for his nest and-
What was that.
The garnet dropped his half-ruined towel to the floor, zipping over to a bright, abandoned shirt. Surely, the owner was in the water somewhere, but Sturn, he just didn't care! It was bright! And perfect! (If there was one trait the lizard and man shared, it was the love for bright, colorful, unique things. Honestly, Joskull couldn't blame him.)
Except, you know, he did.
"STRUN!" the blond hollered, lunging at the garnet again. Strun screamed right back, clutching the stolen shirt closer to his body. This was his. HIS. HIS, FOOLISH PERSON. YOU KNOW BETTER THAN THAT. His eyes bright orange, Strun trilled again, and shot over the pools. HE WOULD BE VICTORIOUS.

Lucian was relaxing in the pools after a hard day's work.
Honestly, being a Journeyman Smith was not a luxury, and the young man hated it. He hated being covered in soot and grime and burns, and he hated, above all, that he had been apprenticed into a craft he loathed. Closing his eyes, he imagined that he wasn't a Smith. It was hard, so he stopped quickly. He was a Journeyman Smith, and a Candidate. That was his life. Too bad, get over it.
Sighing deeply, he sank a little lower into the hot water, trying to ignore a disturbance that seemed to be going on somewhere else in the pools. He just wanted to relax! Perched on the side of the pool, his fire lizard, Dreamer, gave a chirp of alarm before clawing her way across Lucian's shoulder and onto his chest, clearly frightened.
What was that?
"Was thatā¦ was that my shirt?"
Lucian watched as a garnet fire lizard soared over the pools, clutching a bright tunic. A bright, clean tunic that happened to belong to Lucian, who was now very exasperated. "Hey, you! Give that back, it's mine!" Making a grab for the garnet, whose owner was probably around somewhere, Lucian wallowed helplessly in the deep water. "Shards and shells, you wherry-brained idiot, bring that back!"
Of course, his own fire lizard would be of no use. She was a dainty little amethyst, barely eight inches long, and plainly terrified as she squeaked and clung to Lucian's bare chest. So this was the cause of the earlier disturbanceā¦ shards, life couldn't just be easy, could it? "HEY," he shouted, loud enough for anyone in the room to hear. "Whoever owns a sharding garnet flit, get your ass over here!"

Yes, Lucian. That was your shirt.
If he could cackle, Strun probably would. As it would, he trilled triumphantly, clutching his newest treasure to his body as he zipped through the air. Give it back? It's yours? Oh ho, I think not, sad, silly man! The garnet banked hard, making a point to swirl around the squalling man as he showed off his prize. If you didn't want to lose it, you shouldn't have left it unattended. Finders, keepers, sir! You wouldn't be seeing this shirt again!
Turning on wingtip again, Strun soared off to find a perch.
Joskull, unfortunately, did not have that ability. When the other candidate hollered for the garnets owner, he cringed, and found himself slowing to halt. Part of him was largely aware of the fact that he could probably slink out the door just now and maybe, maybe he wouldn't get noticed. But the blond was raised better than that, so with a sigh and a mutter under his breath, he shuffled over to Lucian.
"That's my sharding garnet. If you want your shirt back, I suggest you get it before he starts to shred it. He really enjoys ripping things."
