Appearance:
Although Samara has longer black hair, it is typically tied back away from her angular face, which can easily display a wide array of emotions and may often hold a very fearsome expression in battle. Her large brown eyes are far less expressive, often hiding her emotions behind a mask of determination, a light which makes her eyes appear to be a storm. Her high cheek bones add a rather exotic flair. Her neck is long and slender, but as far as her build, though feminine, it is rather solid and she shows a very good tone of muscle.
Samara walks with a slight limp, but this does not impede her movements on the battle field with her sword or daggers. She is most commonly seen wearing red and brown leathers or armor. She can often be seen with a set jaw as she is rather defiant of the men that might attempt to put her down. After becoming a brown rider, Samara's defiance has only grown as she does not much appreciate any per-convceived ideas that a woman should not be able to be a Weyrleader or Weyrsecond.
Personality:
The most common theme with Samara's personality is determination. She does not lack it in any way. Her determination is the very thing that has helped to lead her and her brown Amiith this far. She was always stubborn and always a hard worker. She also had a bit of an... odd idea about the fact that if a Brown could impress to a woman, though rarely, then why wouldn't a king? Though it didn't happen for her, that doesn't mean that did break her spirits. She still holds out hope for a female king rider.
Samara has always been a tomboy. She likes to be involved in the same things as the men... as well as the women. And if a man things poorly of her for it, well that man is officially of her radar. For good. If they can't respect her for both sides of her personality, then that person, man or woman, might as well not exist to her.
Samara can be extremely difficult to get along with, but she is very level-headed, making her good at leading. A trait that may very well be what attracted Amiith to her and helped her to earn a spot as a Wingsecond in one of the high wings of Southern Weyr. However... She is still striving to become a Wingleader and she is determined not to stop until he gets there. She would like to see a woman as Weyrleader some day as well.
If you wish to characterize Samara into a few simple words, it's most likely going to be Women's Rights Activist. She will push and push until she can prove that women are just as good if not better than men. She has quite the temper at times, so best watch out as it is often just a hair trigger away.

History: Born to a bronze rider of Southern Weyr, Samara grew up with little attention from her father. In fact, she didn't even know who he was until she was thirteen turns and became a Candidate. That was when she found out from her mother, Maelania, a woman who worked in the lower caverns of her father and her conception.
It happened one night at a hatching feast when her father had become drunk... and her mother as well. And that was all that she wanted to hear on the matter. She wished after hearing about him and knowing his identity, that she didn't know a thing about him. He was not a kind man, but a rather proud and cruel man over all. She came to despise him.
Growing up primarily in the creche with other rider's children, she came to call many of them siblings, although only her half sister Minali was truly related to her by blood. Though it made little difference as the two were not particularly close. At least not as close as Samara was to To'rin, or Tourin at that time.
It was when she stood at her first hatching that she would Impress. However, instead of Impressing to a green or blue as she had expected... She Impressed to a brown. It wasn't an unheard of situation, but one that, for sure, caught her by surprise. It was a much more... seldom heard of situation. She was proud. Very proud. Her Amiith had chosen her.
And, as expected, A'mil Impressed a Bronze. They had been good friends... she had even crushed on him. But, soon, they became rivals. She had always been determined to be a leader. Now she had a chance as a brown rider. And she would. But he wanted the position as a Wingleader.
As they went through training, the were constantly competing to see who would be the best at everything. However, Samara wasn't interested in competing with him as much as the fact he was simply attempting to stand in the way of their goal.
However, when they graduated, A'mil would graduate first of the class and she would graduate second. This didn't sit entirely well with her. Both of them became Wingriders and later, through hard work, started to climb ranks. A'mil, however, has now achieved the rank of Wingleader while Samara has only achieved the rank of Wingsecond, a fact that he has come to hold over her and that, in and of itself, has turned him into an enemy in her eyes.
Amiith has flown after several females, even golds, but has only ever won green flights. It frustrates him often enough. He finds it difficult to accept that a gold would not think him worthy of such a position. But Samara tries to calm him. To her, he is the greatest dragon to this day. However, she also thinks a woman should win the weyrleadership, though she does not necessarily think that it should be her...
To this day, they work hard and enjoy themselves as often as they can, though most say that Samara throws herself too much into her work and spends too little time with friends.
Samara and Amiith participated in and lost Loraketh's flight... which lead to some interesting relationship things with her fellow Wingsecond, Gl'wein. She has been chosen to go to Trelis with the Weyrleader and has been made the newest Candidate Master of Trelis Weyr. She continued to be Gl'wein's weyrmate and still does. She would never choose another man over him. She is severely dismayed at the return of Ar'rex. She rather dislikes him... She often has a tendency of attempting to plot with her weyrmate something... less than honorable to get rid of both him and S'vrin. Thigns are only made worse that now they have an unpredictable gold and a gold rider who had the gall to fight with her superiors as leaders... but then again that is exactly what they need... And Samara being Samara... though not vocal about it... she supported the Rebellion whole heartedly.
When time moved on and Trelis lost its last Gold Rider, Samara nearly left to Rindell where a new leadership was being chosen and a Weyrhold wsa being made. But instead, she remained at the Weyr where she could be of service, taking up, once more, her position of Candidate Master to help guide the Weyr for the future.
However, it was not meant to last. Her dragon, Brown Amiith, met his death during the Jr. Queen's flight at the claws of the Crimson Thormyth. His loss has changed the once proud and powerful woman deeply and stripped her of all her dreams.

Appearance:
Amiith is a large brown with a good amount of muscle, especially around his rather unusually large wings. His legs are rather long and although they are well muscled, this makes them look almost thin. His hide is a complex conglomerate of Brown markings which trace over a somewhat orange tinted brown base. His underside is a very pale, but rather warm brown color and his face is almost completely covered in very dark brown markings.
His wings are primarily that orange tinted brown, but fade to a darker ash-tinted gray color at their edges. His body is lined from the bottom of his jaw to the tip of his tail with tiger-like stripes that nearly border on more of a brindle. His tail end is entirely this color where ht lines seem to have just decided to come even closer together than before, melding into one solid colored piece. His nails are not all one color, but some being a lighter gray while others being a smoky near black gray color. All in all, he is a rather handsome brown dragon.
Personality: Amiith is what you would call a determined brown. He wants to achieve and get better at all times. He can't stand to be stagnant. Heck! He can barely stand to stay in one place for too long! He likes to be out flying, roaming and, very rarely, sleeping in the sun. He doesn't see why the Bronzes think themselves to be so much better than himself and other Browns. There is no reason why the should. At least in his opinion. He is even bigger than some of them for one and two... Well. He has a noble heart in his chest, though he rarely shows it to just anyone. He has a hard time admitting his concerns and can be a bit... closed up.
Though Amiith knows he is no typical Brown, he does have one thing in common with them. He is a very stable dragon. However... He has a quick temper for what he may feel are insults. Not necessarily directed towards him, but if they are directed towards His or towards others. He can take what you throw at him and care all the less.
He is, what some might consider, a Knight in shining armor sort or a king with a golden heart or something of that sort. His primary concern is for others and then for himself, which is why Samara is often so fearful that something might happen to him and she would lose him as he does not seem to even consider the kind of danger he might be putting himself in when he tries to defend his home and those there in it... He will jump to his feet to defend his, even in the cases when she may not truly be offended or in danger...

Generally deep and gravelly, his voice is dynamic, easily and greatly colored by whatever he may be feeling or whatever may be going on around him. It is very deep and expressive. As far as the sound, it is more of a baritone.[/spoiler]
