Hanako woke up as she had countless times. The sound of orphyleth's gentle breathing mingled with the sounds of the songbirds outside. A deep breath Brought the smell of spring. The sun spilled in from Orphelyth's ledge and she smiled. It was the beginning of what was sure to be a beautiful day.
Then she shifted and knew something was wrong. Her muscles protested. Her lower back ached, her shoulders stung as if there were scratches across them. She licked her lips, stunned to find them a bit swolen and she flexed one part of her body after another. It was an odd sensation, sore muscles with no physical Labor the day before. Then she tried to sit up and almost cried out. That... Was NOT supposed to be sore.
Her eyes snapped open and she wasted no time Covering herself with her sheet revealing a naked blonde freckled man in her bed. What in Franath's name was going on?!?

R'sren was oddly settled, given how restless he'd been the past week. Grounded. Like the events of the night before had sent all that excess energy draining out of him and leaving him...well, normal. Moryth didn't know how long it would last, but he could feel the lack of vibrating energy coming through the bond and quite liked it. Curled up on his ledge, he was resting after the flight, an inch away from being asleep.
R'sren, on the other hand, was waking up. His awakening was nowhere near as abrupt and disconcerting as Hanako's was, however. He blinked a few times, adjusting to the daytime and the sunlight it brought with it, then began to take stock of his surroundings. This was quite familiar, for him. Not necessarily the post-flight part - Moryth was young, after all - but the "waking up with no idea where he was or how he got there" part. That was common enough, unfortunately.
Eyes settling on Hanako, he pushed up onto his elbows to look over at her. His gaze ran down her body, taking in all the skin not covered by the sheet as well as the body the sheet couldn't well disguise. Okay, naked with a chick. Not the worst way to wake up, and as he pieced together memories of the night before - mostly picking up on the grief from Moryth and working backwards from there - he realized that this day could have started off much worse.
He gave Hanako an easy smile, as if totally oblivious to the fact that she was uncomfortable with this situation. "Morning, gorgeous. Did we win, or are you the consolation prize?" That part was hazy - he knew this was a post-flight morning. He just didn't remember the flight itself.

Hanako blushed catching herself staring at the very male body in her bed. Her movement to cover herself had left very little to her imagination, and her eyes were doing their job quite well. He was a fine specimen of a man, that was sure, and she almost jumped when his eyes opened. She averted her own and shifted uncomfortably.
When her eyes found him again, he was braced on his elbows studying her just as she had ren studying him a moment before. A lazy smile on his handsome face as he asked if they won or she was a consolation prize. That made much more sense to her. It was a flight night last night. All she really remembered was coming back from an early dinner and walking straight into someone, THIS someone, right outside of her weyr.
It took a moment or two to find her voice. It sounded strange to her ears, though she knew she sounded the same as always.
"If you're asking about the flight... I-I believe Young Majoriith chose Pandora's brown. I suppose that would make me a consolation prize then? "

R'sren noticed the blush, the discomfort, and was amused. Maybe she was new to weyrlife? He'd ask, once he figured out exactly why he was in her bed. There was no hiding the interest in his expression, though. Not sexual interest - much unlike last night - but just curiosity. She was someone to occupy himself with for a while, at least. The alternative was climb the walls. Which...now that he'd thought the expression, that sounded rather fun. Wonder how high he could get up the weyr's outer walls before he fell... Wordless disapproval from his dragon cut that thought off. Right. Better to take advantage of the entertainment before him; he could figure out the rest of the day once he left here.
Hanako's words had him raising an eyebrow, looking rather surprised. "Pandora? Huh." He didn't know her - he wasn't too familiar with brown riders - but the lack of honorific said all he wanted to know. "So we're gonna have a lady weyr...leader...then? Though I dunno if you'd call her that. And I guess she isn't really the weyrleader anyway, huh? Just second place." He was speaking rapidly and he knew it, but he didn't mind too much. Hopefully she could understand him well enough.
He looked around for this woman's dragon, though obviously she wasn't sitting at the foot of the bed like a tame feline. "And you? What do you ride?" He paused a moment then grinned at her. "Other than me, I mean."
