G'lwein's eyes slowly opened again. It had been all night holding her close, waiting for the exhaustion to finally take her. He had rocked her and listened to her tears, been there for her. Giving her anything she needed to be comfortable. The large garnet was not on his couch and it was still dark out.
Sheogorath? Where are you? his pulse quickened for a moment before his half asleep mind registered that the faint pressure of the garnet was still there.he relaxed, hoping his tense muscles hadn't woken samara.
I'm here mine, just keeping an eye on things.
G'lwein got a mental image of the top of the weyr. From here the large garnet could get to anywhere in the weyr with very little effort. Sheogorath had started being more like that. Vigilant and extremely protective. His brother's loss had hit him almost as hard as it had samara. Oh the hole weyr mourned his loss of course, but for himself, samara, and sheogorath, it was like losing a twin, a child, a parent. The sense of loss was unimaginable

Samara had eventually tired to the point she fell asleep... but it was not fitful or restful. Not in the least. She woke several times throughout that night, crying and sobbing, sometimes crying out and screaming as she relived Amiith's death again and again in her dreams - her nightmares rather.
She was asleep when Gl'wein woke again. She sat up slowly, her hands suddenly grabbing hold of him tightly, a whimper passing her lips and then shuddering sobs that shook her body. "Amiith.... Amiiith.... Answer me... Amiith?" she begged her dragon allowed. But he wasn't there. he wasn't there. She couldn't find him. Where was he? Where did he go. He wasn't here. "Gl'wein... I can't find Amiith.... He's missing... I need him..." she said to her mate, her voice pained. "Why can't I find him...?" She didn't remember then that her dragon was dead. Her big ol' ball of sunshine was dead. He had left her here... Her mind wasn't working quite right. "I want to go flying, Gl'wein.... but I can't find Amiith..." her words were pained. She knew deep down... she knew... but her midn was deluding her. "Gl'wein... it's so quiet... it hurts so much... make it go away..." She started to sob again.. but her eyes remained dry. Why didn't any tears come anymore.
"I want Amiith..." she said to him, her boice breaking.

G'lwein felt the moment she woke up. The flicker of her eyelashes against his chest. When she held onto him tightly another wave of tenderness swept over him. He slipped one of his hands across her shoulders. He pushed a stray lock of hair out of her face and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.
"Samara love. He's not here anymore..." he frowned. He wished he knew what to say to her... E was about to try again when Sheogorath surprised him.
little love of mine's own. If you truly wish to fly, I would consent to you riding the skies with us. I promised brother Amiith I would look after you.
"My love, look at me. ". He pressed two fingers under her chin to raise her eyes to his.
"Amiith is physically gone, yes. He is in the between. But he is still with you.". He slid his hand down from her chin to her chest , settling warm over her heart. " He's right here. Right where he has been since the day you touched his egg on the sands. It will take time for you to find him there. I will not leave your side until you do. "
