B'nyur
Name: B'nyur
Pronunciation: Been-your
Age: 25
Season Born In: Fall
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance:
B'nyur is built solidly. He stands at exactly six feet tall, and is well filled out. Most is muscle, but he does have some flab. Though being a Dragonrider, he does maintain some level of physical fitness. His physique certainly doesn't rival that of other riders. Most of his weight is carried by his upper body. His legs do not look very long, in fact, they look rather short. This makes it looks like he is precariously perched whenever he rides Oveth. His large hands don't seem to look quite capable of doing the work of a healer, but they are.
B'nyur's face isn't all that bad-looking. Despite the fine lines that are developing around his eyes, he's quite handsome. His thick blonde hair is kept just long enough to cover his ears, and is not thinning just yet. B'nyur really doesn't like his ears. He thinks that they are too big. His skin is tanned, though there are a few times where it burns before tanning during the summer season. His nose, though more average in size than his ears, is still a bit on the large side. His nose is well-defined and looks nice-enough, thankfully. His eyes are hazel in color.
Personality:
B'nyur always tries to be a reliable guy. It's important to gain his patients' trust as a Healer, and as a Dragonhealer, doubly so. He will do anything he has said he would, in the manner that he said he would. B'nyur is honest and doesn't sugar coat anything he says. He thinks it is better for his patients to hear his diagnosis and prospectives straight up, rather than making it sound sweeter than it is with sugar-coating. He carries this philosophy outside of his Healing work as well. Though he doesn't go running his mouth off about others, B'nyur will speak what he thinks is the truth. He will simply say nothing if he can't do that. His kind, gentle bedside manner does make the truth easier to hear.
Being a Healer, it is extremely important for his patients to trust him and be open with him. Dragons are especially finicky with who they will trust that isn't their bonded. B'nyur is proud to say that he hasn't revealed a patients' secret since becoming a Journeyman. He is, overall, extremely trustworthy.
B'nyur has a very steady personality. It is difficult to upset, surprise, or anger him. He very rarely loses his temper. Any irritation or ire he feels is most likely expressed in a stern or disappointing air rather than and angry one. He has a high tolerance of mistakes and accidents, though those that intentionally cause harm will find his forgiveness hard to earn. He is a good listener and can usually give sound advice.
B'nyur stands behind any decision he makes. He can easily be swayed when he's still thinking about a decision, he believes it a good thing to keep an open mind, once he is decided, there is no swaying him. His rank doesn't let him make any orders outside the infirmary, but he expects any orders he makes to be followed. He thinks others will be dependable, just like he is. If someone breaks their word, he finds it hard to forgive that person. He can and will hold a grudge and refuse to cooperate with someone because of a past wrongdoing, no matter how long ago the misdeed occurred.
Stubborn is a word that could definitely fit B'nyur. One of his largest weaknesses as a Healer is that he will often refuse to admit when one type of treatment is not working and another is needed. B'nyur, instead of becoming defensive and argumentative, will become passive and agreeable about his wrong decisions. He will agree that the other person is probably right, but he will not agree to change his habits. This makes it quite frustrating to deal with him, but he does honestly try to do what he thinks is right.
B'nyur is quite fond of life's little luxuries: nice food and wine, a bed that is comfortable, and a nice warm fire when the weather is a bit chilly. Outside of his Healing work, B'nyur could be called languid, lazy even. The man certainly doesn't like to exert much energy, and his work suffers when he has to. Outside of his wing drills, he doesn't work on his fitness. This could be why he tires easily. He may never be one of the Weyr's best Threadfighters for this reason.
Generally, B'nyur is a friendly and easy-going man. He is easy to talk to, and carries a conversation well. He isn't one to organize parties or start dancing, he isn't one to hide in a corner. He is just about in the middle. He is hard to rile up, and learned an impressive amount of patience from his work as a Healer.
Family: Tolyur-Father-Herder
Bandra-Mother-HerderDeceased
Location: Rindell
Rank: High Lord/Journeyman Dragonhealer
Wing/Pack: High Lord's wing
History:
Banyur was born the only child of Tolyur and Bandra. The three lived on a runnerbeast farm just outside of Honshu Hold. His mother Bandra came from a long line of runnerbeast breeders. Bandra was a classic tomboy with no plans of marriage or anything of the female role. She learned everything there was about raising runners from her father. Then, a sevenday after her twentieth turnday, her plans changed.
Tolyur was eighteen turns old, a messenger, and had a thirst to see all of Pern with adventures all his own. He had just delivered a message to the Lord Holder of Honshu when his runner, whom he had bought with his own wages, stepped in a hole and bowed her tendon. So Tolyur led his trusty runner to Bandra's family farm, and found himself entranced by the statuesque woman. He tied his runner up and went to talk to her. Bandra showed little interest in him, but he found her charismatic and easy to talk to.
Tolyur rented a mount for a few sevendays, since he was unable to buy a second. Just long enough for him to get back to Honshu. When he got back, he tried to court Bandra again, with similar results as the last time. But after a month, the bowed tendon still was not fixed. Tolyur did not want to go running around Pern again, so he begged Bandra for a job. She did give him a job, he was to be a groom.
Bandra finally began to have feelings for Tolyur. They soon got married and took the family business from Bandra's parents. Their first son Banyur was born not long after. Both mother and father were proud of their healthy son. He was taught to ride as soon as he could walk. But by the time Banyur was ten turns old, it was apparent that he would not be continuing the family business. There was no interest in the runners for him. He was only doing so to please his parents, but the lack of enjoyment was obvious.
Bandra became pregnant again. But she was already thirty-two turns old when she gave birth again, which was quite old for Pernese women. During the childbirth something went wrong, both mother and child died as a result. Father and son were devastated, but both were determined to continue on with their lives. Tolyur continued breeding runnerbeasts. Banyur, on the other hand, was determined to find out why his mother had died. He thought there was something that could have been done to prevent the death. So he asked his father to send him to the Healerhall. Though it pained Tolyur to see the last of his family leave, finally allowed his son to go after a few months.
Banyur was taken on as an apprentice when he was eleven turns old. His mentor was a small, quick man named Umas, who was also quite impatient. Banyur learned quickly. He settled into his Healing work like he'd never done when working with the runners. Healing was actually something he enjoyed. His work was tough and demanding, but extremely rewarding. Umas had a brown firelizard that was as quick and smart as he was. Umas allowed him to use the brown to keep in touch with Tolyur.
Banyur was fourteen turns old when the Dragonriders from Fort Weyr came on Search. Their Dragonhealers were aging, so they were Searching possible Candidates from the Healerhall to train if they Impressed to be Dragonhealers. When Banyur was selected, he was a bit more than just surprised. Umas, however, just grinned at him knowingly.
So, Banyur became a Candidate at Fort Weyr. He threw himself into Healing, while lagging behind the others in chores. O'ric, one of the older Dragonriders and Dragonhealer, became Banyur's idol. He began following the Brownrider everywhere, ready to help and learn whenever. He thought healing dragons was twice as exciting as healing humans. When Banyur turned seventeen turns old, there was a clutch on the Sands. He never had much enthusiasm for his Candidacy, but O'ric had told him that if he Impressed, he would arrange for Banyur to become a Journeyman Dragonhealer. Banyur was ready, but O'ric thought it'd be easier if he had a dragon of his own to help him learn and calm other dragons.
With this thought of Journeymanship on his mind, Banyur increased his efforts tenfold in the last sevenday before the clutch was ready to hatch. The Hatching finally arrived. Banyur was in the Infirmary like he usually was when the humming started. O'ric wished him luck before he headed to the Sands himself. Banyur sprinted back to the barracks threw on his robes and entered the Sands.
There were plenty of Hatchlings to hatch before the Bronze. Though there were quite a few of them still there when the Bronze did hatch. The large hatchling paid little attention to his Clutchmates as he went towards the Candidates. He surveyed the males intently before finally choosing one. B'nyur was honestly shocked he was the one the Bronze chose.
But sure enough, the Bronze did choose him. Come now B'nyurMine, we must go. They are not worth our time. Feed your Ammoth. The hatchling said, before leading him towards the food. Their weyrling turns passed as quickly as they came. The two were one of the best, if not the best, in their class. They spent some time as wingriders, though B'nyur believed his healing talents could be better used somewhere else.
That's when he decided to join the Rebellion. If anyone would need his talents, it was those who had already joined. So he left Fort behind and joined the others.
Ammoth
Name: Ammoth
Pronunciation: Am-oth
Age: 7 Turns
Rank: Bronze
Size: 44 feet
Color Codes:

Appearance:
Ammoth stands at 44 feet. The largest a Bronze can get. He is all sorts of different shades of bronze. On the back top tip of his wings, the bronze color is close to black. Going down from that is a light shade of bronze that goes to a slightly darker shade of bronze. The second darkest shade of bronze is on his chest and stomach. His legs and feet are the same shade of bronze as the third darkest shade of bronze.
Personality:
Ammoth is most definitely what one would consider a Bronze to be. He is a prideful dragon, believing himself to be quite good in all his endeavors. He is quick tempered, not one to take insults very well. He will even take insult for his rider, who doesn't take insult very much. He is a very kingly dragon, that is for sure.
Challenging Ammoth is not a great idea. In fact, it's not much of an idea at all. A challenge shouldn't be attempted for one's own good. If it comes down to the lady dragons, he will fight viciously to protect them. This goes to any and all of his ladies. Not just the high ranking ones.
Mind-Voice (If applicable):
Come now Mine, we must go. They are not worth our time.
