G'lwein
Name: G'lwein
Pronunciation:G el wayne
Age: 26
Season Born In: Winter
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Hetero
Appearance:
G’lwein stands at an impressive 6’4’’ tall. He has hair that's a dark sandy blonde. It reaches the level of his ears and touches the back of his neck. His skin is a light sun-kissed tan and looks rather well taken care of despite his penchant for taking long flights every day with his Sheogorath.
His face is oval shaped. A slim nose and high cheekbones give him an almost delicate look. He stays clean shaven the easier to show his killer white smile. His eyes are a light bluish green, almost teal colored in the light. They can sometimes take on a more malicious gleam taking him from angel to demon in a heartbeat. Very few people see this, but it’s most definitely there. For the most part, people remember him as the sweet rider with young features and always a kind word.
His body is large and well muscled. To see him from a distance, one would think him a warrior. He's lean and very fit, every muscle in his body is developed and honed to be powerful. He’s usually careful in his movements, not wanting to seem rash or hasty. Each movement belies power under a the tight control of will.
Personality:
G’lwein comes off to people during his daily interactions as sweet. He’s kind and generous. He loves kids and takes time out of his day to check on the candidates and see if they need any help with anything. His voice is gentle, on the deeper end of the tenor range. It tends to put people at ease around him, which he uses to his advantage. He works hard for the weyr, doing just about anything and everything that they ask of him, much to the dislike of his Sheogorath.
Everything is not always as it seems. This is especially true of this brown rider.G’lwein’s nice side is just a cover. Sure he sometimes does help others for the pure pleasure of simple gratitude, but more often than not he has something to gain. When people trust you they talk. When people talk… you learn things. G’lwein’s manipulativeness feeds into his wingleader’s plans as a spy, but it usually is not for the good of the weyr. His dark side is cold, calculating and vicious.
It’s almost like a split personality with this one. In the light, he’s sweet, like your all American boy next door. In the shadows… he’s a killer. Guilty of more than one silent execution of his fellow riders and their partners at the orders of his wingleader, there are very few things this man won’t do. Few people see that side, but God help them if they do.
The people lucky enough to get close to him get a mixture of his personalities. They get the kind protective G'lwein, but he doesn't hide his darkness from them. He used to protect his weyr out of some screwed up Sense of duty. Since being accepted at trelis he has a new sense of home, and is loyal until it comes to the rebellion. He is supportive of the rebellion, appreciating their cause.
Family: Brother: Gemnah of Bronze Meazarth 41 turns
Rank: Sr. Weyrleader
History:
Gelwein was born in a small hold on the edge of the southern continent. His father was a woodcutter and his mother died in childbirth. His father wasn’t around much and his needs were cared for by his older brother Gemnah. 14 year old Gemnah was not one to raise a kind and gentle child. His bonded dragon Maezarth treated the child as a pest and he bares scars from having crossed the slightly aggressive bronze during his younger years.
He showed no interest in anything other than dragons. His turn came at the age of 16 when he was searched by a young green rider. In his younger years before the search came, he was quiet and withdrawn. Listening to and absorbing everything, then using his knowledge to his advantage.
After becoming a candidate he learned a new way to gain information, and this one was infinitely more fun. He became ‘friends’ with a few of his fellow candidates, riders, and holders. It was easier to pass his time acting as they expected him to act and not causing problems until he was a weyrling. His good act worked. He made it to 19 still not showing off his inner self, and impressed a large Garnet named Sheogorath. Then however… with Sheogorath able to see into his soul and urging him to accept and embrace that part of himself, he did.
Their wingleader as full riders, was a vicious man. His bronze was uncharacteristically hot tempered much like his older brother’s bronze. His fear of the wingleader began when he watched him stab one of his own riders to death over nothing at all besides ‘she flew too slow’. The wingleader had taken it upon himself to protect the weyr even from within. G’lwein fit right in.
Once his more covert talents were discovered, his wingleader unleashed terrors inside himself. The violence and manipulativeness of his bonded partner added an even more devious edge to him. He acted as a spy and assassin, able to get close to people before showing his true self and destroying them. All for the good of the weyr of course. He did this until Gold Loraketh flew at Southern.
He took his place as Jr. Weyrleader of Trelis, rejoicing in his freedom from Southern. Once the plan to steal the egg had been carried out, he backed out. He fought to return the egg and his efforts were not unnoticed noticed. Himself, his weyrmate Samara, and his friend J'degar were permitted to stay. He and J'degar found themselves in the position of Weyrling masters and Samara, Candidate master.
On the whole, he'd been rather unflappable through the threadfall and the events that followed. Sevrin's re-entry to trelis caused a small point of tension, but with the loss of his bonded came the loss of the threat. He knew the man had no idea of what he had been doing, so G'lwein mostly ignored him.
In the guise of helping to route out and destroy the rebellion's threat, he has been able to protect the group. Using his skills he was able to manipulate most of trelis and the leaders of the other weyrs that he is counting on spies to locate the rebellion and would then infiltrate and kill the leaders.
In reality, what he was doing was waiting for the spies to hit even remotely close to the mark. Once they began to hint at things that could be useful to finding the rebellion, he would leave the weyr to investigate the claim, kill the spy, and return with news that it was a small group from one of the outlying posts coming in to re-supply or something. Anything to throw them off the trail of the Rebellion.
He found a certain approval for the group. He envies their freedom, and his weyrmate Samara is all but vocal in support of them. When the time came for the queen to fly, they fought their hardest. His garnet, Sheogorath won the last Queen's flight becoming Trelis's new Weyrleader. This allows them to stay in a position to know not only what is going on in the weyr, but also a lot of what is going on in the other weyrs as well. Samara and her brown are the only ones who know of his involvement with the rebels besides the rebels themselves. The perfect cover for a spy... but how long will that last?
Location: Trelis
Wing/Pack: Weyrleader
Sheogorath
Name: Sheogorath
Pronunciation: Shay- oh- go- wrath
Age: 6 turns
Rank: Garnet
Size: 40 Ft
Color Codes: 990000
Appearance:
Sheogorath is a large Garnet at 40 feet tall. He’s a dark, rich blood red color with each muscle defined by a lighter almost highlighted streak along his lines. these streaks take up a pattern along his neck and chest. Two light scars marr his face. One is situated right under his eye and one just before his headknobs. The back of his wings are by far the darkest part of him a true bloody red with highlighted tips.
Personality:
Sheogorath is intelligent. He tends to see the quickest route to doing something and he enjoys finding ways to muddy the waters and give others what he calls a more 'interesting path. Not afraid to risk himself he’ll do anything to keep His from being killed or hurt, just as long as His isn’t enjoying one of his games. He encourages His to be himself to make it easier on him. He has mixed feelings about the role His plays, because at times, he genuinely enjoys being the nice guy, but then he REALLY enjoys the kill as well. He thinks g'lwein should abandon the good guy routine, but even he knows sometimes manipulation is needed.
Sheogorath is a hard worker too, which helps His when he’s trying to gain people’s trust. Not a very talkative dragon, like the boy before he came to him prefers to watch, wait, and listen, then formulate the best plan to achieve his goals.
Sheo, like his color mates has some deep rooted violence issues. This is definitely one dragon you don't want to piss off.
Mind-Voice (If applicable):
You blew it Mine... Can we just kill them now?
