D’tri sighed happily as he felt the wind hitting his face. It felt like it had been an eternity since him and his Topaz dragoness had been able to relax like this. You know that isn’t true D’tri, though I do so enjoy feeling the wind beneath my wings once more. Chahaturth crooned as she spoke, relishing the wind beneath her wings. D’tri know what she meant, he still remembered the pain he felt through their bond as dragon claws ripped the soft membranes of her wings. He shuddered at the memory, eliciting a soft moan of remembrance from his dragon. It is all behind us now Chaha, we can fly as far as we want, though it might be a good idea to stay somewhat close to the Weyr. He reached forward and patted the topaz hide in front of him. Chahaturth snorted at her rider, what did he think she was? A hatchling?!

The sun was shining beautifully, and Iro'ris was never one to pass up an opportunity to fly aimlessly with his dragon. Granted, they had to stay rather close to the Weyr, with Saekath being a clutching dragon, after all, which meant they couldn't go on Search like other riders, but it was good enough just to forget about paperwork and duties for awhile and just fly.
Not that Iro ever took his duties as a Sub-Queen rider seriously anyway.
Making sure his dragon's leather straps were tight and secure, he clambered onto her back, and with a joyous bugle, the topaz queen launched herself from the ledge of their weyr, snapping open her wings to catch the air currents that would lift them up and into the sky.
Spiraling straight up and into the sun, Saekath bugled again. As she spun, the sun catching her wings, she looked like a flaming beacon of light. Iro'ris grinned, and held on tightly as his lion queen suddenly dropped, winging out over the forest, her aim obviously the ocean. Iro'ris grinned wider. He always enjoyed flying over the ocean. The air currents were stronger, which made flight much more exciting.
We are not heading for the ocean, CrazyMine. We are heading for Chahaturth and Theirs.[/color]
Moderately surprised, Iro'ris squinted, and in front of them by some distance, he could see the shimmer of another topaz hide. Why? He asked his dragon, who did not answer, but quickened her pace. Soon, they were flying beside the other topaz pair.
Hello, Chahaturth. How are you and yours?

D’tri sighed happily as he relaxed his hold on his dragon, but was careful to make sure that he wouldn’t fall off. He loved the feel of the wind against his face and blowing through his hair. It was nice to be free of responsibilities, at least for a little while anyways. Chahaturth crooned and rumbled with laughter, feeling the same relaxation, joy, and freedom as her rider. It was nice to get away from the Weyr and all the other dragons and their riders, and all of the noise. It was just the two of them up in the open air, a dragoness and her rider.
D’tri smiled, leaning forward to stroke the topaz hide in front of him. Chahaturth crooned at her rider’s affection, feeling carefree and a little playful. D’tri yelped and clung to his dragon as Chahaturth started turning herself upside down. Chahaturth rumbled vehemently with laughter as she righted herself. That was NOT funny Chahaturth!!! D’tri slapped the topaz dragon’s hide and took a few deep breaths in order to calm his quickly beating heart. I thought it was funny. You just have no sense of humor Mine. Chahaturth sounded a little wounded, but D’tri knew better, and he couldn’t help himself, and began laughing with his dragon.
Chahaturth turned her head slightly as Saekath and Iro’ris came up beside her and D’tri. We are well Saekath, just enjoying a relaxing flight. What of you and yours? Chahaturth’s sweet voice reached out to Saekath as the Topaz returned her attention to what she was doing. D’tri smiled and waved an enthusiastic hand at the other Topaz rider. It was nice not being the only guy riding around on a large female dragon. Nice day for a flight huh?! He yelled over the wind that was rushing past his ears.

"Alright, boy, let's see what you got today!" G'daro said to Banemith as they were lifting off the ground to practice fighting maneuvers. As they rose into the sky, Banemith turned to G'daro, eyes whirling with excitement and a flashy grin across his face. He had rarely flown on such beautiful days such as this. When they reached the peak of their climb, Banemith spread his wings and started with a simple glide. G'daro began to imagine that they were fighting Thread and gave Banemith a silent command to dive. His Bonded tucked his wings in and dove. Gaining speed, Banemith then spread his wings again and looped-de-looped in the air twice.
He then spiraled up, chest heaving, wings beating, blood racing. At the peak, he stopped and let gravity do its job. He fell until they were almost about to hit the ground, then flipped upright and spread his wings again. He sped over the ground, leaving dust in his wake. He began to gain height again and was about to wheel and turn when he spotted two shadows above him: Chahaturth and Saekath. He bugled and rapidly beat his wings to get to their level. G'daro hung on for dear life, even though he was securely strapped onto him.
When Banemith got to the two Topaz's level he gave them a respected nod of his head. Lovely day, Chahaturth. Saekath. How are Trelis's mighty Topazes doing today?
