The first thing that is noticed about Nyssa is her height, and her air of general authority that turns the eye as easily as any natural beauty might. Standing easily at 5'10”, Nyssa more than towers over most other woman she is used to being around, though is completely unbothered by it. Rather she plays her height to her advantage, adding to her aura of authority, whether it be false or not. Built to be slender, Nyssa is made up of graceful lines and a slim body, she could be called willowly – were it not for the bane of her existance. Any woman that bemoans about small breasts has obviously never had large ones that seem to get in the way of everything, and it's a personal annoyance of this young woman, who would give anything to downsize her own 'assets'. For all her annoyance over her body, however, Nyssa is not afraid to use womanly wiles to get what she wants.
Nyssa is beautiful in her own right, though attractive is really more accurate when taking into consideration the lines of her features, and the way her face is structured. She is perhaps rounder in the face than her figure would suggest, with round cheeks, and an oval face, but it by no means gives her a chubby appearance. Rather it softens the other wise hard features. Her eyes are no larger than normal, coloured a deep steely blue framed by thick lashes than rest on her cheeks, lightly dusted with freckles when they are closed. Her skin is a naturally tanned colour, almost a pale olive in shade that gives her skin a faintly golden glow.
Her hair is the kind of dark brown that is impossible to pin down to a shade, wether it be black or brown is almsot impossible to tell. Her one vanity, Nyssa wears her hair long, almost brushing her waist in a thick, wavy mess that would curl if it were to be cut shorter and the weight taken from them, but somehow the longer cut suits her as a shorter style never would.
Personality:
Nyssa is extremely observant, it's hard to get anything past her when she's paying attention to what's going on around her. Though she is chatty with people, she's more than happy to stand by and observe as well. She believes that to really know a person, you need to see both sides of them. How they act to ones face and how they act when they're not around as well. She's flirty and chatty - especially with men in high powered positions - and wastes no time in attempting to wriggle her way into favoured places that way. Nyssa is observant yes, and makes a study of body language and facial expression, but this coupled with intelligence and a habit for attempting to manipulate people makes her someone that can at times, push tempers to the limit.
Nyssa is well aware that as a woman, she's accustomed to being given the same kind of respect as a man is (not in her time) - this is a mistake. Nyssa is one of those people who believes there is little difference between a man and a woman, and sets out constantly to prove this. If there is one way to make sure she attempts a task, it is to tell her that as a woman it is impossible. She's hard headed and stubborn, refusing to give ground once it gained, and will take the time to gain that ground. Nyssa's stubborness is a subtle kind, she'll never forget a cause once she's started out on it, and while she may seem to relax her guard the opposite is true. Nyssa loves politics, the intricate games of gaining favour with the right people to get ahead in the world, and is not above doing what ever is required to play the game.
For all that she is rather friendly, Nyssa doesn't make friends easily, simply because she sees all people as puppets to move in a game or a dance. She's not above sacrificing someone else if it means putting her in a position to go further and rather than stick with people she likes, her company is made up of people that can do things for her. She doesn't make lasting relationships, everything is a business venture, or a move in a game, nothing lasts forever. She's patient and willing to wait for results to come about from small seeds planted. Nyssa is a planner and a plotter, thinking about the bigger picture rather than just the here and now and even the near future. Some plans may take turns to come to fruition but that's fine with her... She's willing to wait.
She's extremely ambitious, setting her eyes on the top position in anything she does, and is not afraid to push others out of her way to get there. Often she comes across as rather cold and aloof, but the reality of it is that she simply has better things to do than help others when she has places that she wants to go. She fits into most social situations, finding it easy to laugh and smile. She can act as friendly and concerned as she needs to in order to get what she wants, which is always the question when dealing with Nyssa: What does she want?

Born to smith Nalron, and harper Alyssa, Nyssa was a troublesome child from the day she was birthed into the world. Every moment she had was filled with her demanding attention, and why shouldn't it be? For her, Nyssa was the ultimate greatness on Pern. It didn't help that her parents spoiled her rotten, her father especially after her mother died of an illness when Nyssa was four turns. It had been a smaller plague running through the hold, and they didn't have the money to buy a cure for both Alyssa and Nyssa herself. However, rather than tell their daughter that, they always let her forget that she was ever sick and believe a lie instead.
Rather than take an apprenticeship, Nyssa became determined to get the attention of the heir to the hold. It was at a young age of twelve that she decided this, already having formed her own ring of followers of the holdbrats. She was the one to look to, and she made it that way. She ruled the children with an iron fist, loving the power that it brought. However, it wasn't enough. Turns passed, and though she grew closer in some ways to the young lordling, he never fell for her as she wished.
A few turns down the line Nyssa refused the chance to be searched, deciding to stick behind when it seemed to be going well for her. Finally the lordling was beginning to show an interest for someone. When that someone ended up being a girl she thought was her friend however, Nyssa spurned her and everyone else, finding a ride to Trelis Weyr. She had heard of great things there. Rebellions fought and one, golds that had hatched often, and new colors. Surely between three clutching colors, one would choose her! However, a few turns passed and no Queen was clutched, and the one Sub-Queen went to a cook of all people.
She knows the junior queen will rise soon though, and her hopes rest on Majoriith to produce the gold she knows will be hers. Unfortunately, Lyevorath had other ideas. At the hatching, rather than be approached by any of the sub-queens or the shining Gold that she'd envisioned, it was Lyevorath that approached her. At first, Nyssa rejected the little green, wanting nothing to do with her, but the green talked her over. Weyrling lessons were about to begin, and together, they were going to take over Pern.

Lyevorath at first glance can either seem like the most gentle and giving dragoness, or she can seem like the most cunning and manipulative little witch imaginable. It all depends on if you are friend or foe, and how much she sees use in you. If you are, or have, something that she needs or desires, she will befriend you and take it. Lyevorath is not stupid though, she knows that friends and allies come from all walks of life, and come with many uses. Color does little for her; she knows that sometimes it is not the Queens and Bronzes that end up in charge. No, she wants actual authority, and that comes with knowing strategy, and it comes from being determined to do whatever she must. If there were ever a green that went against the stereo-type for her color, it would be Lyevorath. She is not flighty, she is not dim-witted, and she does not lose her head or intention span, ever. It takes a lot to throw this girl, and she will be kicking and screaming, tooth and nail, every step of the way. She knows how to use the fact that she is a female as well, and can become deceptive to those she holds alliances or promises to. It is not above her to flirt and even let a male win her flight later on just to get something that they can give her. There is a reason behind the power-hungry nature though, and that is because she knows the only safe place is at the top with everyone at your command. Lyevorath, as many of Majoriith’s children, does not just want to be at the bottom of the heap. In this game, you win or you die, and this green is determined to never die.
