CADRISSA
Name: Cadrissa (Rissa)
Pronunciation: Kah - Dri - Sah (Rhi- Sah)
Age: 23
Season Born In:
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance:
Cadrissa is not particularly tiny for a woman at a steady 5'6" in height, she's perfectly average - and that describes her in many other senses too. She's not particularly broad, or dainty, or large or tiny, graceless or gracefull. Rissa, when it comes to basic bodily build, is average. What she wouldn't give to be a bit larger when it came to the chest, one will never know, but she certainly has her sulky moments over the fact she has far more angles than curves. That's not to say she's boyish, however, because she's not. She's just not overly abundant in curves - much to her disgust. That doesn't stop her from trying to show them off either. The moment there's even a touch of warmth in the air, she's shedding outer layers for things that leave her stomach free, skirts with slits and if it's brightly coloured, all the better. She hasn't got so little fashion sense that it's appalling though, just unusual in the colder environment of Badlands Weyr.
Rissa is naturally rather tanned, even in the winter months, though her skin does pale considerably, she wears little enough clothing that her skin is always seeing some kind of sunlight. Dark haired as well, she keeps her wavy, thick hair tied back in intricate braids most of the time, almost never letting it loose for various reasons. Reaching her lower back in length, this choice of braiding is more to do with actually being able to do her work than any sort of desire to look her best, though that comes into it to. Rather than the usual brown eyes that might go with her skin tone and hair colour, Rissa inherited her mothers bright blue eyes, and she's more than happy to make note of this difference. Over all, facially, Rissa is rather exotic looking, lovely in a non-classical way.
Personality:
Ambitious would not be too strong a word to use when it came to Cadrissa, she knows what she wants, and she knows what she needs to do to get it. Power, however, isn't necessarily it. Oh she'd love to have it, power gets one many things in life, but there are more important things. She's determined to have what she wants and needs, endlessly working at what she needs to do. While getting ahead might be important, Rissa makes sure that every task she completes is done well, and all the tasks related to it. In her mind, there's no point in getting the top job if you're not capable of it. Like, really. She's extremely routine orientated, working best when things are set to a set regime and discipline. She'll spend time making new routines as things change, and sometimes has trouble adapting if not given the time to settle into different routines. Without them, she feels lost and irritated with her own lack of ability to keep on top of things. That tends to mean she automatically tries to organise everyone around her as well, whether they like it or not.
Growing up, Cadrissa never lacked familial support, but she was always taught that it was important to stand on her own two feet. Dependant on others is something she most certainly is not. Rissa knows that the only way to get something done to her satisfaction is to do it herself, and she doesn't like to feel like she needs help in any way. Resourceful enough to be entirely self-sufficient, Cadrissa strives to always find ways to do things herself, no matter how difficult. She doesn't like to ask for help and Faranth help you if you try to help her without permission. She's stubborn as they come, accepting help only when it is completely impossible for her to complete a task, but she'll still rarely feel like that's an option. She depends only on her own abilities, feeling that others tend to be flakey at best and while friends are great, wonderful things, you never know when you're going to be standing on your own.
That's not the end of it either. She was a well known terror as a tot, and that bossiness has not been grown out of at all. Telling people what to do is just second nature to Rissa, she doesn't do it out of spite or meanness, she just expects to be obeyed. Why wouldn't she be? She'll rarely wait for agreement to be given for an order, simply moving on to the next task and ignoring any protests along the way. She gets things done. Cadrissa is not the type to sit around twiddling her thumbs in the hopes things will turn out well, but nor is she going to spend stupid amounts of time on a small task when her skills would be of better use elsewhere. She's efficient and reliable in working, though does have a tendancy to work herself completely to the bone unless actually ordered to take a break.
If you can take the good with the bad, Rissa is an energetic friend, happy to have a conversation with just about everyone, there's just the problem that she likes to be constantly doing things. Being active is just a part of that busy routine she likes to keep up with, and if she's not pestering the guard to let her help and be outside, she'll be asking anyone else if they need a hand with anything. On the rare occassion you do find her stationary, it's bound to be curled up with something to read. As much as she enjoys the past time - particularly anything to do with times before the winter made everything so barren - it's still incredibly rare to find her just sitting and resting. Rissa isn't particularly unfriendly, she just likes to consider herself as awfully busy too. If you can pin her down for a conversation for longer than five minutes, you'll get an intelligent, vibrant young woman who's always eager to help and even more eager to learn.
She's also a tease. Whether that be in conversation or romance, Rissa is a well known flirt and rarely giving in to the temptation that she offers in the first place. When it comes to men - and often women, though she never intends anything by it - Rissa is little but a tease. She's more than happy to cuddle up, cling to, play around with guys, but the moment anyone tries to make it more than a game, she's off, usually giggling the whole way.

History:
Cadrissa was born at Trelis as the result of a flight that just ended awkwardly for her mother. The rider she'd never seen before in her life, and now a young daughter that took up all of her time. AS a toddler,t he girl hated to be left alone and screamed bloody murder when she was left with anyone that wasn't her mother. Temper tantrums were often and earth shattering - at least for a young mother who had no idea what she was doing. Slowly though, the girl began growing out of it, and instead concentrated her attentions on bossing around a small group of weyrbrats to get them to do her every whim. She wasn't the type to sit back and just watch quietly, not at all.
As she grew, it became very obvious that Rissa needed to be busy and her life would only get suffocating if she wasn't able to explore at the same time as keeping her routines. So when she was ten turns old, her mother allowed her to leave the weyr to apprentice as a miner. The danger and the routine work of it was perfect for a young Cadrissa, and the more she worked at it, the more fascinated she became with whers and their ability to help miners out constantly. One day, she told herself that she would have one of them, and they'd be the best miners in the hold, damn it.
That never came to pass.
Not long after she turned nineteen, she began working towards this dream - along as her journeyman status - but even as she worked constantly at her craft, there were things happening behind her knowledge with the rebellion and the weyr Trelis. She had no problems with the mutations personally, they seemed to aid Pern as much as anyone else and that was all that really mattered when Thread was around, but not everyone shared that opinion. The Rebellion evidently needed Candidates, but Rissa knew nothing of that - at least until she was stolen. And oh the work she put them through. Having her life suddenly uprooted sent Rissa into a tailspin of confusion and scrambling to reshape her life - while making everyone around her miserable.
That all changed after she turned twenty one, and she attended a hatching for the Rebellion, and within that clutch was her darling Aelliath. Paying no attention to the hatching through her sulking, Rissa was suitably shocked speechless when a dark hatchling slithered up beside her, pressing her nose against her heart and setting whirling eyes on her own wide ones.
It is alright, Rissa. You Aelliath is here now, we will fix everything together.[/i] And that was the end of it. The Rebellion was her home, Aelliath was hers, and that old life seemed so distant and empty without her there.

Weaknesses: Doesn't have the same stamina, can't work as long, useless in digging emergencies.
BONDED'S NAME
Name: Aelliath
Pronunciation: Ah- Lee - Eth
Age: Two
Rank: Obsidian
Size: 40.5
Colors: A8A8A8, 6f6f6f, 242424, and 32CD32
Appearance:
As far as appearances go, Aelliath is as quirky as the more hidden parts of her personality. She holds a range of the normal base hues found on Obsidians; a light silver, middling gray, and dark black. It is a stark contrast usually, patched and made up of pieces "sewed" together by her color marking. That "thread" is a bright, neon green that lines the patches delicately like the stitching on a doll. The same color has a few patches of its own, and even coats her wings entirely. Her body is not unlike most of her color. It's whip like and delicate, being a middling length for her range and proportioned as to be expected. Her tail is longer, her limbs spindly and wings angled, but none of that is too far off the norm for the sub-queen line she belongs too. Her snout is angled and her body slightly curved with a healthy appearance, but on a second look people see how she is not quite so average.
Those spindly legs are incredibly thin and dainty, her wings a bit shorter than they first appear, her neck snaking in an "s" shaped arch. Her head is fine and delicate, but her eyes are slightly bulged and larger than normal. Her headknobs are even long and thin. Often she has a habit of blending into the shadows around her, a characteristic common of her color as well. She has a secondary habit though of popping out of those shadows at random times, catching people unaware
Personality: Aelliath is everything her mother never was. It is the simplest of ways to explain her and it is what she is most known for. Life, for the obsidian, is a beautiful thing and cherished thoroughly. She takes everything in turn, calm and weathering of any storm. A rock in the sea, a mountain in a gale storm, Aelliath does not move much by the events around her. She is shaped by then though. Aelliath observes everyone and everything in her "Weyr", her subjects being only second to her own rider. Only when she has seen enough will she make a decision, and it is not made lightly. Aelliath does have passion and emotion though, in fact more than most Obsidians known to Pern.
The sub queen is incredibly loving and protective of her home. She has a gentle heart and wants to see those around her happy. She is subtle and quiet though about how she works. That's not to say she doesn't have her mothers temper though. When she is moved enough by something, Aelliath can be the same seething ball of anger and hatred Nimarath was infamous for. It's just much more seldom seen. A little known fact to those besides her rider is Aelliath's less logical side. She's a dreamer, and she often gets carried away in her thoughts. The littlest of things can make her contemplate everything from the meaning of her place in Pern to the aspects of life itself. When someone starts to debate anything with her, she takes to it like a fish to water as well, made for long wonder debated. The most coveted thing about the dragoness however is that she has dreams. They're just dreams, but they often hold some truth that she has noticed around her and often scare her and make her worry about people when she doesn't need to be...or does she?
Mind-Voice (If applicable):
It doesn't seem like a coincidence, RissaMine, that I am here when you are here. Things happen for a reason.
Aelliath has a very soft, dreamy kind of voice, the type that people will listen to and feel comforted by but at the same time it makes her sound as if she is constantly in thought. There's an underlying layer of steel to everything she says though, she's still a queen, even a sub-queen.
