Motoki smiled brightly when she felt the little eggs reaction to her. You will do great things someday little one, just you wait. She gave the little egg one last gentle stroke with her fingertips before she carefully stood up and moved on to the next egg. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she looked around at all the other eggs, wondering which one to touch next. She smiled as she found one egg that also seemed pretty lonely. She carefully picked her way over to the Flower egg. She carefully knelt down before gently touching the smooth shell with the tips of her fingers. I bet you will be the most beautiful hatchling ever. She smiled as she whispered softly to the egg, and gently traced the sweeping lines on the egg’s delicate shell.

Mleynn grinned excitedly, awed by the presence in his head. The response from the Thorn was short, not unhappy, but clearly nothing special. Mleynn took a moment before stepping backwards, hoping something else would've happen. What did secrets have to do with wasting time? And what was wrong with things he said? He frowned for a moment, confusion plastered on his face...
Off to Mleynn's right, was another egg. Only the PRINCELING EGG was distraction enough to break the puzzlement. Soon he was grinning almost stupidly again, gingerly going to the tiny egg. Mleynn felt the shy aura, and before letting his slightly quivering hand touch the shell, he basked in the sleepy, lullaby feeling in the air. Mleynn let his fingers spread across the egglet, his two thumbs near made a crown shaped on the dome of the egg. "You don't need to... umm, be... scared." He said. He spoke aloud, but a memory flooded into his mind, speaking more than anything else.
Vision; His little sister Emeliynn sat quivering in a corner, wide-eyed at the thunder booming. Tears stained her cheeks, she was really little at this point.. Mleynn sat next to her, and held her little hand. "There, there.. Emm. That's just how the sky says 'hello' "
-- Fear was normal. This little egg, it was brave. Really, this egg would reveal something so gentle and sweet, everyone would love this baby. "You're such...a cool egg.." He murmured, feeling calm and sleepy.

Malta steeled herself against the sensation of knowing, rewarded with a pleased feeling as the dragon inside the dark egg reached out to sift through who she was. The dragonet seemed more interested in what she'd been doing recently; she felt some sensation of what, specifically, the creature was looking at, as if she were remembering the events herself. Ultimately, she was met with approval, warming her down to her soul. The approval wasn't that personal, wasn't necessarily an acceptance of all she was, but the dragonet made it very clear that her choice to stand on her own was the right one, at least in this Egg's opinion.
Moving away from the Stoic with a last pulse of gentle pressure from her fingertips, Malta surveyed the Clutch. She would Touch one more Egg, and then she would go, she decided. The White's single Egg tempted her, more for its total novelty than anything, but the sense of meekness that she could practically feel from here made her guess the dragon wouldn't particularly care for her attentions. Let a gentler soul Touch that one; she'd have to satisfy her curiosity at Hatching.
In the end, she was most drawn to the Imp, another dark shell, swirled with greys and browns. As she neared, she frowned at the sight of the dent in the shell, but as Majoriith was not exhibiting any particular worry over the Egg, she supposed there was nothing to be concerned about. Besides, several Candidates had Touched this one, and none had seemed to come away feeling that the dragon inside needed any help.
Wondering where the dent in the shell corresponded to on the dragon's body, she placed her hand lightly against it, opening herself up again. It was easier every time, in a way, and she closed her eyes, seeking to know the dragon as best as she could. [/size]

These eggs, man. Frivolous? While not a word Joskull would label himself with, it was entirely true. His priorities were a bit skewed at this age, but who could blame him? His childhood was uncomplicated and pleasant, his apprenticeship was equally uneventful. Joskull loved the beauty in life – he loved being looked at. Somewhere, deep down, it was the desire to be noticed, the desire for some kind of prestige that manifested in a want for shiny, baubly objects.
That, however, was entirely too deep for our candidate over here. As it were, he simply eyed the egg he had chosen, giving it a thoughtful look and a final pat. He supposed the egg (the dragon inside the egg?) was right. It could be both. Time would only tell, though.
Shifting back to Bahari, he gave a small nod. "He did. Just a tiny thing, couldn't have been that old. Didn't move away from the kill when he wanted it to, and that, sadly, was the end of it's little lizard life." The blond sighed again, shaking his head. "I still might try to get him a female something. To tame him. I dunno, Prim and Forge seemed to have a good effect on Jarn." (Forge had long since accepted his role as one of Jarn's beautiful ladies.)
While he did have his fingers, they were heavily bandaged. Joskull considered himself lucky. "He was asleep. I slipped it on and tried to soothe him with meat – not that it worked, as you can see." He snorted softly, eying his garnet. At least the beast had stopped screeching at him. "Let's go look for firelizard eggs, after this. I think I will go deaf if I have to keep him on a leash all the time."
Nodding to Malta and giving her a little wave, he passed his lesson partner and meandered over to another egg. Well, he'd touched the most beautiful. Now what? Bahari had a point, they probably wouldn't look like their shells, so… Just to spite his brother, he wandered over to The Rider. It was dull, and brown, but there was still something very appealing about the way it looked like it was wiped down. "You are much more interesting up close," he remarked, stroking the shell as he studied it.

Kariss couldn't get much of a reading on this egg, but what she got, she liked. The dragon within wanted more than just prettiness and gossip. Perhaps it had the same sort of curiosity that drove her, sometimes. Yes, this dragon seemed good. She curled her fingers lightly against it, as if she was scratching an animal behind the ears. Realizing, of course, that that sort of affection couldn't work on an egg, she dropped her hand just as Joskull arrived. "This is a good one." She beamed at him. She liked this dragon quite a lot.
She stepped away, then, to give the man and the egg some space. She looked around, wondering which to touch next. The priestess, of course, was vibrant and...could you call an egg charismatic? No, perhaps not, but that was the word which came to mind. It was certainly drawing Kariss towards it. For exactly that reason, though, she turned away. It might be a gold, after all. Or perhaps a topaz? Something vain and queenly, anyway, and that was definitely not what she wanted.
So what was the opposite of the priestess? The Wolf, perhaps? It looked like a mess of spider webs, quiet and unassuming. She turned and headed to that egg, laying a hand on the warm shell and waiting, wondering what this egg held.

Huh, that egg certainly seemed friendly. Then again, there was still something strange about it. It was a little too doting, apparently because Laila was a female? She wasn't sure she liked the sense of reverence she'd felt from the Forgotten Knight egg. She wasn't a Lady Holder or anything, after all. Just a simple farm girl-turned-candidate.
Turning away from the dark blue egg, Laila considered where to go next. There were plenty of eggs she had yet to touch, but how to decide. The golden-green shell of the Queen egg caught her eye, and with a shrug, Laila headed toward that one. It seemed too small and dull in color to be a gold, but Laila was not discouraged by the lack of a queen egg. She cared more about a personality that could mesh with hers than the color of the hide. She would still be interested in seeing what sort of dragon emerged from the not-gold shell come Hatching Day.

Well wasn't that an interesting reaction. Bahari grinned down at the egg, narrowing his eyes a bit and looking particularly smug with that response. Clearly it had a point, a very obvious point about pre-formed opinions and the like. Near the end of that little snippet was the bit of amusement, approving amusement about the things Bahari did and oh he was going to have to cut off his curiosity and surprise at that to deal with his brother--his brother who was still very oblivious to how Bahari seemed to find himself, ah, tangled with a certain danger over and over again. Bahari tapped his fingers on the shell of the egg, dragging them away as he finally stepped lightly over towards Joskull.
"You do realize it took two flitts to subdue Jarn? I wouldn't put it past Strun here to need his own adoring harem to keep himself satiated." Bahari rolled his eyes at that, and oh wasn't that a bit terrifying. Who knows, perhaps another firelizard would calm the garnet down. It was an idea that could at least be toyed with, granted it would definitely have to be a female. Hatsya, on his shoulder, chittered something into Bahari's ear as if passing along some witty banter on the whole situation, plaguing his Bonded with a few images of Strun and that leash. Bahari raised a hand to scratch at his creature.
"Asleep, so you jumped your little terror while you were sleeping, oh that seems like a sharding perfect thing to do." Bahari snorted and shook his head a bit, but hey, it seemed Strun had a mind to stop screeching like some horrible banshee. "I suppose I can join you on that, perhaps I'll even move my schedule around to accommodate you." He bat his eyes at his brother and pulled away once it seemed that Joskull had set his sights on another egg to touch--and shards, look at that, one of the more dully colored ones! Good job Jos, Baha was so proud of you.
Now it was time for Baha to pick another. For a moment he stood there, scratching at his blue firelizard's head before giving the smallest shrug of his shoulders and sauntering up to the Jester Egg. Why sharding not? The egg was a complete eyesore of colors, which was different than the somewhat muted and dulled ones that Bahari had wandered through and touched thus far. If Joskull was able to break out of his habit and touch something dull, then shards, Bahari was going to go for one of the most gaudily colored eggs to place his hand on. As he neared it he dragged his fingertips over the multi-colored shell before pressing his hand against it, certainly this would be a touch interesting, if colors were any indicator--granted the ones he's felt up thus far were plenty interesting all on their own without being too eye-catching.

Mleynn slowly nodded his head. That was... very... fitting. Yes.. He was sort of a protector wasn't he? The warm pressure against his palm was thrilling, and now suddenly, he did not want to leave the greenish white egg. The little egg was sweet as a lamb and he liked the quiet demeanor. Sadly, there were more eggs to touch, and more minds to touch his own. With a slight hesitation, Mleynn gave a final reassuring pat and stepped back. He hoped that baby impressed to a very nice person, who would love it dearly and keep it secure...
The boy dug his toe into the hot sand, twitching the boot tip back quickly. The heat bled easily through the hide. Out of the corner of his eye, some gleamy and colorful caught his attention. The JESTER egg was marvelous! His lips restored the grin once more, and his mind filled with Emeliynn and her tales she so loved. She loved rainbows. Mleynn could see his sister sprinkling flower petals all over this egg, and gifting a crown of clover blossoms. The colors were like a delirious puddle of wonder.. "You are... such a lovely... egg." He stated. Really, even as he caressed the shell, he just gazed at it with awe. So pretty!
*Btw he hopefully isn't in the other Candidate's way*

Motoki giggled softly at the reaction she got from the Flower egg. Take care now. Her words were a soft whisper meant only for the egg she was gently touching with her fingertips. She smiled a little as she slowly stood up, wondering which egg she would touch next. She wondered if they would all be as sweet as the Little Princeling and the Flower were, but she wasn’t sure, after all, each egg was as unique as its shell. She bit her little a little as she looked around at all the eggs she had to choose from. She finally decided that the next egg she would touch would be one of the plain-est looking eggs she could see. She carefully picked her way around the eggs until she came to the Wolf egg, and carefully knelt down next to it. You are definitely a unique egg…so simple yet…soooo…so much more. Her gaze slowly took in the large egg, wondering just what would come out of this simple looking egg.

Lucian decided that he liked The Lady. Not only was it pretty, like blown glass, but it was nice, too, and seemed almost a little shy. He wanted to spend more time with it, but he also knew he should visit some other eggs. Bending down over The Lady, he whispered, "I'll come back," to the pretty little egg before standing.
Brushing off his breeches, he looked around. None of the other eggs seemed nearly as pretty as The Lady, but The Flower was a demure shade of pink, with darker pink-or-lavender markings, and Lucian decided that he liked the looks of that egg, too. He did not, however, dare to go near The Thorn or The Priestess. They didn't look very pretty or friendly at all.
Approaching The Flower, he knelt down again, letting his fingers gently stroke the top of the egg lightly. "Hello," he said softy, waiting patiently for a reply.

The touching is now over as far as egg responses go. Feel free to reply to the last ones I just sent and to say good bye. You can also just talk to each other candidate to candidate. It can be assumed that the Candidate master was here as well as some other riders to watch. Rikula and Majoriith are setting up their usual places around the eggs again though. Mamma dragon wants her babies back pleaseandthankyou!

At least this seemed to be another friendly egg, almost seeming to laugh as Laila touched it. She wasn't sure, though; there seemed almost to be a condescending tone coming from the egg. Perhaps that was just her imagination, though. It seemed to like her well enough, but personally, Laila thought she preferred the Lady and the Flower eggs. Or perhaps her dragon was not in any of the eggs she'd touched. Perhaps it wasn't even in this clutch, but had yet to be laid. Ah well, she supposed she would find out when the day of the Hatching arrived. She was getting excited thinking about it.
She stepped away from the eggs when the end of the Touching was announced. She would have liked to meet the rest of the eggs, but she supposed the riders had a reason for doing things the way they did. The golden clutchmother certainly seemed to be getting antsy after the time away from her clutch. Laila would be back again when the Hatching arrived; she was sure she'd see all the eggs again then. For now, she had other things to occupy her time.

Another somewhat puzzling egg. Kariss wasn't sure what to make of this egg, or if she liked it - or its response. Not that she felt overly negative, either. It just...felt needlessly cryptic, when she would have liked something a little more to the point. Regardless, she could tell that it was time to go. The mother was shifting as if uncomfortable with all the people fondling her babies. Kariss could understand; she hadn't liked it when people held Rineska for too long, at first. It had just been affection and excitement, of course, but it had still felt like her friends and family were hogging her baby and keeping her from her.
Kariss stepped away from the egg she'd last touched, heading to the stands, where Rineska had jumped to her feet when she saw her mother approaching. The five year old ran down the stairs to meet her mom, jumping into her arms and hugging her, already babbling excitedly. "Did you Impress, mom? Did you get your dragon? Is it pretty? Is it a girl or a boy?"
Kariss laughed as she set her daughter down. "Slow down there, kiddo. We'll see if I Impress when the babies hatch, okay? For now we were just having little chats."
"What'd you talk about? What'd they say? Do they like you, mom? Do-" Kariss shushed her daughter to briefly thank the gold and her rider, then turned and walked out of the sands, Rineska instantly resuming her volley of questions.
