Noraali Amli
Name: Noraali Amli
Pronunciation: nor-ALL-ee am-LEE
Age: 32 Turns
Season Born In: Early Spring
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance:
Noraali is a slender woman weight in at 125lbs and standing at a mere 5'5". She has an angular face with a severe tilt to her brows and a sharp cast to her almond shaped eyes. She is one of the rare few who has a particular mutation known as heterochromia in which the eyes are two different colors. Her right eye is a hazel color while the left is blue. Her almond shaped eyes and their mismatched colors make for a somewhat striking gaze. But beyond the mismatched color and shape, framed by dark lashes, her eyes are a storm of her emotions - even under the greatest restraint, you can see mirth, anger, happiness, sorrow, and more just beneath the surface of her forever well put together persona.
Her pale skin tone does not quite fit with the idea of a beach and sun, but Noraali doesn't really tan, though she does have a tendency to burn her shoulders and is very careful to try to protect her delicate skin as best as she can. She dislikes burns and had suffered quite a few as a child, which has left some scarring on her back and shoulders.
Her long blonde hair is often worn up in a loose bun - one that might even be messy as it may have been hastily or lazily put up for one reason or another. However, when it is worn down, it frames her neck and shoulders in a pale, slightly curled halo of tumbling light gold.
Noraali will often come across as prideful in the way that she carries her self - straight backed, head held high, arms often stiffly at her sides. Though this is as much from stress as it is from pride. She takes her job very seriously. Her gait is always controlled and smooth - which is often a product of a subconscious need for others to know the importance of the job of Weyrwoman. Though, not so much of herself.
When Noraali is upset, her gait will show this as well as she will become over stiff and her movements will have a somewhat jerky motion to them. This is often why she is chided for her stress - citing that it isn't fair to her body, however, will only serve to make her upset with you.
She has a dazzling smile when she is happy or pleased. It can brighten a room and infects her eyes as much as spreading across her face. She tries not to keep a smile from her face too often, but the stress and rigor of leading a Weyr can keep it away for days on end.
Personality:
When Noraali was young, she was a rambunctious, excitable, ringleader personality. She had the other children following in step with her, even when they knew that she was leading them into trouble as trouble was one of Noraali's favorite things to seek out because, usually, it lead to some interesting new discovery. However, more often than not, the Hold didn't take so kindly to such excursions. Every punishment she and her friends were meted out seemed only to service them to try again without getting caught - almost as if that was a game in and of itself. In some ways, this trait caused them more trouble in the long run. However, on the other hand, it made them more sly and cunning. Or at least some of them - Noraali being chief amongst them.
As Noraali grew, so did her sense of leadership and her ability to manage those around her. However, as she grew, she started to better focus them into more profitable pursuits - not all of them, she will regret to admit, were completely of good repute. However, during this time, her pride and stubborn nature grew as much because of her position as a leader as to simply her belief in her own faculties. Coupled with these two things, her temper was a force to be reckoned with at times - thought difficult to rouse - it is just as difficult if not more difficult to cool. This fact could easily have to do with genetics more than how she grew - her mother suffering the same problem.
When it came to learning, Noraali proved herself to be intelligent and capable. She learned quickly and effectively, which pleased her teachers. Learning has always been something that she loved. She is always willing to learn. After all, the more one learns, the more easily things come in time and the more one can teach others and more effectively lead them.
Noraali has a very high value of the acquisition of knowledge and would see the Weyr as a center of learning as well as a home for its protectors. She doesn't like the idea of people going uneducated, though she can't do as much as she would like in that respect. A Weyr is a Weyr, after all.
Her bold nature has led her to develop an expressive and compelling way of speaking. Her expressions, body language, posture, and hand gestures all lending to a dynamic means of communication which is both compelling and helps to add interest to what is being said.
Noraali is both just and compassionate. She would like to ere on the side of compassion and mercy more often than justice, but her position does not always allow for such a thing and all judgements must be executed for the good of the Weyr. However, this does not mean that when she metes out what she believes to be just punishments that she does not feel for those receiving them. She does, indeed, feel for them and sympathize, but she will not show this or allow it to sway her.
Those under her often will see her compassion and kindness. Each person needs to be cared for. She does her best to know the aches and hurts of those around her and tries to make herself as aware as possible. These traits, however, are what often attract people to her rather than her charisma or ability to speak well. Her kind heart is very easily hidden by what may appear to be a snobby exterior that is often presumed due to her position as a queen rider.
When it comes to love, Noraali has not found such a thing as of yet, though she does believe it exists at some point. But she is no naive young girl, but a woman. And she is extremely cautious in matters of the heart.
Family:
Cassondra Amli, harper, mother
Malli Amli, healer, father
Banali Amli, apprentice healer, younger sister
Location: Trelis
Rank: Senior Weyrwoman/Wingleader
Wing/Pack: Queen's Wing
History:
Thirty-two turns ago, when a screaming baby found the arms of her mother reaching for her after her birth, she would find them warm and comforting, but Noraali was always a fussy baby. It took a lot of time to calm her most of the time, but it was time her doting mother was more than willing to give. Her stubborn nature first started to show itself then in the days shortly after her birth and carried through her entire life in the hold an in the Weyr.
Noraali was not an only child, having a younger sister born only three turns after her. The two soon were getting into trouble together once they were both old enough. The two didn't look much alike, so most did not peg them for sisters, much to Banali's chagrin as she always saw her older sister as gaining favor from others. She would have liked to be known more easily as Noraali's little sister. However, she made no secret of the times she wished she were the older sister and it was Noraali stuck hero worshiping her. Noraali's friends would often push her out and, eventually, this lead to some very serious sibling rivalries, but between thick and thin, they stuck up for each other in the end.
They both lead their little gangs on expeditions and into trouble, enjoying the challenge of besting one another and leading to further trouble, trouble which would teach Noraali and help to become a better leader as they tried new ways to both best each other and evade punishment.
Trouble was like Noraali's second nature in so many ways. She and her friends were caught more times than she would ever care to admit. They probably spent more time trying to get out of punishment than truly being able to avoid it. However, despite all this, she had other children flocking to her and taking her leadership, though the competing factions were, admittedly, very divided by age groups.
Entering her next stage of life when she turned eighteen, she entered the Harper Hall and began to train with them. She loved learning, but she didn't much for how her own voice sounded in her opinion, though others said it was fine. But fine wasn't good... And that was something that bothered her to an extent. She had a lot of skill in playing the lyre, even as an apprentice.
But of course, a few Turns later, when her sister joined her, Noraali would be jealous to find that Banali was a much better Harper than she was. But she knew she couldn't be good at everything. But her sister's success only caused her to want to try harder and to succeed more. She was too stubborn to give up. She continued to try to learn and tried to get more into the keeping of archives and records rather than the actual playing and performance of music, which was what her sister excelled in. She was trying to get something that she would enjoy.
However, when she was seventeen turns of age she would be searched and stand for a hatching in which was a gold egg. And out of that egg came a lovely gold dragonet who immediately looked in Noraali's direction and Impressed.
Noraali. Come. It is time for me to be fed and oiled. And time that everyone saw me. Come, come. Hurry up now.
The young queen was demanding from the first. Demanding and somewhat childish. Noraali had her hands full turning her into a good queen, though her prideful and demanding nature never seemed to lesson - just grow more controlled.
Over time, Noraali showed more and more interest in politics between Weyrs and within the Weyr. She also studied the people around her and learned from them. She also learned to be very conscious of what the people around her went through. she was aware of judgements and always asked why. How could you pass a judgement without an answer to questions? Without clear evidence. She became known as a wise queen rider and Jr. Weyrwoman.
Noraali has always been outspoken and that has earned her both ridicule and respect from time to time. She bares each as best she can, though her queen does not take to the ridicule quite so well as she herself does.
Noraali worked hard and it did not go unnoticed. The Jr. Weyrwoman was given a chance to be a senior - temporarily according to her superiors - at Trelis Weyr. Though it was for a very tragic reason. They had lost their Weyrwoman and friend. Noraali went in knowing this and did her best to respect this. With her went Rikula, a young rider with a young dragon not old enough to Rise as of yet. She had been chosen because they believed she could best train new queens - could best train Rikula to be a Werywoman.
However, over time, she has come to truly call Trelis home and see the people their as her own. She can't abandon them. Majoriith is about to fly and, knowing that if a queen egg is produced she may be asked to return to the Weyr in which she Impressed, she prepares for another battle - one which she is confident she can win.
Beyond this, Rindell has been forced to ask for the help of the Weyr to defend their lands. And Noraali sees it best to help them - everyone deserves protection against the ancient enemy.

eec900 - Inner Wing Sails and Left Front Paw and Left Rear Leg Markings
ffd700 - Back marking
Appearance:
At forty-nine and a half feet, Ehtyriath is on the large end of the size spectrum for even a gold and she is very aware of the fact. She is almost lazy in the way she presents herself because her size and color simply give her a rather significant presence already. She loves to feel queen and she believes her markings are very clean as well. She is a very orange - gold color with wing sails which are a lighter gold color. Her paws are also similar in color, though they are closer tot he brighter gold which lines the dragoness' back.
Her eye is marked with two colors -a truly bright gold and an old gold that almost looks like a tear drop around each eye. Her belly, neck and tail have markings of the same color. Her right feet lack any different color markigns and are a solid orange gold.
Personality:
Ehtyriath is what one might call a demanding dragoness. She likes to have her way and she likes to have it now. She hates waiting for anything and expects her needs to be met instantly. She will always demand others to do better every day, jut as she demands of herself and of her rider. She is a perfectionist who can not stand disorder. Nothing will rouse her temper faster than things which are out of place or poorly taken care of.
She has a kind and gentle core, though she can be a hothead more often than not. She tends to become upset when things aren't working out jsut the way she thinks they should. Be careful that you do not cause the Weyr trouble or she will see to it that you receive a just and severe punishment. Of course, she isn't the only one deciding such things and people should be very grateful for that fact at times.
Ehtyriath will always do her best for the Weyr and those therein. Even if appearances wouldn't seem it. She does have visions of grandeur and believes herself the greatest of queens at times, though she can easily be knocked down form such beliefs and will often sulk, which is quite the amusing picture. She will always try to be her very best self. If she is not, then it s a bad day and you would do best to avoid it.
