Name Inali
Pronunciation In-all-E
Age 26
Season Born in Summer
Gender Female
Sexuality Heterosexual
Appearance
Inali has an hourglass figure that tops around 5 ft 4 in and is covered in creamy alabaster skin. With a petite frame she's not the strongest rider in the weyr. Inali's figure is composed of long legs, a shorter torso, small shoulders, a slender neck, and a heart shaped face.
From what her mother always told her though, it's Inali's eyes that show her personality. Almond shaped and light green, they are hidden behind thick, dark brown lashes and will often flicker around not wanting to settle on one thing for too long. A nervous habit of hers is to brush a hand through her wavy hair. It settles about mid-back in dark, loose waves. Almost being black, the color is a rich brown. Inali also has a soprano voice that matches her temperament, and she enjoys singing while she works.
Inali will often go for earth toned peasant tops that skim her figure and riding pants. Occasionally Inali will wear a knee length dress usually again in earth tones. Generally she wears dresses only to festivities though. She always wears her mother's necklace which is a simple corded choker with a red pendant.
Personality

Before Loraketh's Death
Even before she became a gold rider, Inali held an iron will inside her body. Any, and every, decision she comes to, Inali holds herself to it till the end. Though at times her stubbornness can become a problem, Inali hates being proved wrong. The rider isn’t one to take “No” as an answer, and if given it, will still do the opposite. What most might be surprised at though, is that this ability to be headstrong doesn’t stem from a rash nature. In fact, Inali sometimes over thinks situations and will often read too much into actions.
Not only stubborn, Inali is also quick-witted and energetic. She's quick to go along with changing plans, and has the enthusiasm to not get tired with a project easily. Inali also loves to be with people and thrives on a social life, often trying to be a leader in a group whether she's wanted or not. This was one of the traits that her dragon, Loraketh, admired her for when they first met on the hatching sands.
This need to be around people can become a problem in of itself though. Inali can come off very pushy or needy even because of the way she responds. This is something that Inali realizes and is trying to remedy, however it is a slow process. The ability to see faults in herself is another trait of Inali's, though she many times will ignore them and act as if they are non-existent.
Additionally, Inali is, or can be, organized. When it is necessary to be as such, the rider will become one of the most situated people one can came across. For the most part though, Inali prefers to be on the average side of this trait. An example of this is that a place she’s working in will be absolutely spotless. Inali can’t stand her working place being cluttered and dysfunctional. Her own weyr however is a different story. When it comes to a living space, a lived in look is what Inali aims for. Not extremely horrible, just so much that it feels like home.
The trait that generally proves most fun is that Inali is quite adventurous. Adventurous, and curious, and still very much a kid at heart, the rider can be a great friend and playmate. Any time someone wants a companion to come explore the Weyr, Inali tries to be there. Now, many times she’s too busy to be there actually, but the whole time she’s working she’ll yearn for the adventure instead. Partially, her adventurous streaks are caused by a ceaseless curiosity. This again doesn’t stem from impulsive needs, she considers the consequences too often for that, but her need to know the unknown easily overcomes this.
One of the most predominant traits found in the rider though, is that she’s kind. Inali constantly wants to help the people of Pern. Occasionally this need though can become a nuisance to some. Not everyone wants help after all, but Inali refuses to hear this and tries to aid people anyway. Also, the rider hates it when people, especially children, are crying. If someone is, Inali will do everything she is capable of doing to remedy the situation. This sympathy doesn’t just stop at humans though; the rider extends it happily to any creature in need.
Unfortunately, Inali’s attempts to be the best she can be occasionally will overwhelm her. It’s at these times, when the duties of being a senior weyrwoman become too much, that she turns to Loraketh. Inali finds great comfort in the dragon, and it is with her that all of her worries and fears come to light.
AfterLoraketh's Death
Since Loraketh's death, Inali has become skittish, feaful even, and why shouldn't she be? The dragonless rider fears everything she comes in contact with, seeing it for only the harm it can bring and refusing to trust anyone but herself and her Firelizard. She knows that out there there are people that would help her, and part of her still stokes her rebellious flame because of that...it is just deep down, hidden for safety.
Now that S'vrin and Ar'rex have so much of the Weyr wrapped around their finger though, she can barely even think about wanting something other than freedom. It's her last hope, her last desire other than to just be with Loraketh somehow, and that Inali will not allow while her people need her. The girl gets depressed easily since she is often away from her weyrmate and children, and there seems to just be a wide expanse of nothing in front of her. There is no fight anymore to win, nothing to dream of. Her every hope was shattered when she lost her Gold.
Somewhere though, that old personality is waiting. Occasionally when she does happen to get feisty it shows through. She can be coy even with her passive aggressive comments, and somehow it seems like she is just buying her time, waiting for someone to come along and help her come out of the darkness again. After all, she might be prideful, but she isn't above help.
So the real Inali, so very fragile, lies in wait, hoping that someone will come along and set her free again.
After Impressing Rudith
Since impressing Rudith, Inali has become more like her old self. She is more concerned with her children and the welfare of her Weyr, no longer thinking that it is the cause of Loraketh's death. She almost never hears Loraketh's voice in her head anymore either, instead having Rudith firmly keeping her grasp on reality normal. Her relationship with T'rian has been on the rocks since she's spent so much time in weyrlinghood, but she is capable of recovering that as well if she really wanted to.
What's to see is how much of the cunning and manipulative creature she had become after Loraketh's death remains. Some see none of it all, but then it is well hidden in Inali's own opinion. Rudith is much too ambitious to let that part of her rider die after all.

History
Childhood/Candidacy:
Inali was born to rider parents, Irine rider of Green Erith, and K'nalik of Bronze Shenoth. Unlike others at Ista though, the Weyr where she grew up, Inali wasn't raised as a weyrbrat. No, her parents kept her close to them and their dragons. Still, Inali was an adventurous child and often went on long walks around the Istan shores. She loved it out there, the smell of the salt air, the wonderful breeze that rustled her dark hair. Even at a tender age, Inali held a keen sense about the world around her. It was something that later would prove to be one of her most wonderful of qualities.
As the girl grew, she thrived on Weyr life. Well known for a youngster, she purposefully made it her job from the age of 6 to look around and greet any newcomers. Often this was found as sweet, however, there were those who didn't like it so much. As Inali grew even older, she matched any retorts she was given with a silver tongue as deadly as dragon's fire.
By the age of 12, she had stood for her first clutch. Though she did not impress, her parents were proud of their daughter. The next year though took a turn for the worst. The once happy family hit catastrophe when in a practice threadfall exercise, her father's dragon was injured by another and fell to his death. The empty shell of a man Inali once knew soon went as well. It forced Inali inside herself, refusing to pay attention to anything around her.
Instead of seeing the wonders of Ista, she could only remember the father and bronze they had lost. Deciding that her daughter and her needed a new home, Inali's mother placed a transfer to the Weyr between the North and South. Trelis was a sanctuary for the two, and soon, Inali was back to almost normal. She had hardened with her loss though, and soon would again when her mother too passed from a lung disease.
The last of her family gone, the now 15 turn old girl had no one to turn to. Inali stopped going to any of the Weyr's hatchings, until one cold winter's night, her roommate's Huntyre's eggs hatched. The now 16 turn old impressed a Forest and named the bird Pepper after her feisty nature. Little by little over the next month, Inali came out of her shell yet again. In the spring of her 16th turn, Mivinth, the senior queen at Trelis rose. Her clutch was a great size at 23 eggs, and that didn't include the best thing of all. A gold egg was there, the first in turns.
Though everyone knew that it also meant thread would be coming within the next decade since all over Pern gold eggs were being clutched and more eggs were being laid, a third gold at Trelis was nothing to laugh at. Inali, coaxed by the Weyrwoman herself stood for the clutch.
Impression:
Weyrlinghood/Jn. Weyrwoman:
Loraketh and Inali quickly grew and learned in Trelis. Under the close supervision of Mivinth and her rider, the two were taught everything they'd need to know to be successful Jn or Sn. Queen and Weyrwoman. As time went on, not only did they grow in maturity, but also in body. Loraketh grew to be larger than any Gold hatched at Trelis before. At a large 50 feet long, she had out grown Mivinth by a good 4 feet. By the time that Inali was 19 and Loraketh was 3, Mivinth's rider succumbed to an illness and died.
It was heartbreaking for the Weyr, however the uncertainty of Trelis' future loomed over them as the greater threat. Both Queens were close to rising, and the Weyr's only wish was for them to not rise at the same time. Their prayers were heard when one day, Loraketh rose first. Multiple bronzes flew after her, but it was Stallorth of T'rian that she picked. The new Weyrleaders were a pairing that not only did much of the Weyr approve of, but also expected. Having known each other since Inali had first come to Trelis, it was obvious to everyone that the riders at least would choose each other.
Sn. Weyrwoman:
After Loraketh's first clutch hatched, a normal clutch with even a Bronze. Not long after, her own children were born, twin girls named Inoria and Talian. Though no one knew it at the time, they were special in more than just that way though. Talian, though mute was also capable of communicating with all the firelizards of the Weyr. Inoria, she was normal, except she could communicate with all the dragons of the Weyr. It wouldn't be for a few turns however that any of this was known, and in the mean time the twins' secret was kept just that, a secret. Only a turn after they were born, another Queen was hatched by the name of Izanycorth.
Not long after was when everything changed. The WeyrQueen layed her second clutched, and three new colors emerged; Topaz Kayath, Obsidian Talath, and Garnet Emiath. They weren't accepted by all though, and soon Istan riders started to cause trouble. Because of their hatred for the new colors, the Istan riders kidnapped children from Trelis Weyr. Trelis brought the children back though, along with new weyrlings from a hidden clutch at the Northern Weyr. Not long after Iskra left leaving Inali in charge with the young pair of Iirla and Izanycorth.
When a storm ruined Sollace Hold, Inali opened Trelis to the refugees. There weren't enough workers though to rebuild The Island's first hold, so Inali went on her own to Southern Weyr to help. She needed to get away from the stress she told herself, she'd only be gone a few days. Southern had other plans though and delayed her weeks. One day, which is what they had hoped for, Loraketh rose in Southern and was caught by a Brownrider's dragon. Ar'rex became Weyrleader with Inali, and the young woman fought daily to keep her Weyr's traditions strong.
In the end, driven temporarily mad, Ar'rex attempted to steal what everyone thought was a Sub-Queen egg from Loraketh's clutch. He disappeared once they Trelis dragons caught up to him though, and was not seen again for a while. The clutch hatched shortly after, and for a while it was nice again. Nothing too hard happened, and everyone thought that finally Pern would have peace. There is nothing that easy though.
Threadfall came a few turns early, and soon the Weyrs were preoccupied with defending their territory. Even Inali's beloved Huntyre was of the initial losses. Underneath it all though, a rebellion was brewing, and Inali once again fought against the urge to outright battle the rebels off The Island. Perhaps she would have been able to do something about what happened next, but there was one more tragedy for her to endure....the death of her dragon.
Loraketh's Betweening:
History After Loraketh's Death:
Since, not much has happened besides Ar'rex and S'vrin's return and The Great Dragon Battle that occurred over the ocean between the two continents. Many died that day, and still more were injured. Much of Pern blamed the losses due to the battle as well as fighting threadfall in the days after on the new colors. Because of this, few Weyrs supported The Obsidian Rebellion. Those that did sent spies or recruiters amongst the different Holds to aid their regrouping. It's slow, and it is dangerous, but if someone doesn't do it, who knows what will become of Pern.
Little by little Inali fell into the darkness that resulted from Loraketh's death within in her mind. No longer did she judge things fairly or even consider the world around her in the same way. For instance, the woman felt as if she had to purge all of what she had once known from the taint that still clung to her mind. Anything that reminded her of Loraketh had to go away, and then maybe the Queen's voice would leave her mind.
When she learned that she had a half-sister in the rebellion, despite the fact that Kytrie only wanted to use Inali, she left Trelis in the middle of the night. The woman did not bank on Inoria finding her leaving though or having to take her daughter with her to keep the girl quiet. Leave she did do though, and before she knew it Trelis was just a nightmare in her mind. Together Kytrie and Inali tried to usurp power by creating dissent within the ranks, spreading rumors and helping rebels that wanted to break away from the group.
After Noita and some of her knights were attacked, and they left though, Inali took a few candidates with her and her child back to Trelis to secretly attend Chahaturth's hatching hoping to infiltrate Trelis without anyone knowing. Little did she know she would bond once more but this time to a green dragonet by the name of Rudith. The change was not easy for the once Goldrider, and in fact it is still to be seen if the bonding has helped her more, or caused her more mental instability instead.
Pet:
Name Ghost
Pronunciation as it looks
Age 6 turns
Type firelizard
Rank Green
Size 19.7 inches
Color Codes 388c3e
Personality/Appearance
The green is quiet, eerily so. She will be so still that you simply forget that she is there. Because of this, it is often alarming whenever she does make noise of any kind. In terms of her appearance, Ghost is a middling green with a more shimmery sort of golden green that circles and sweeps in various patterns around her hide.
Pronunciation:
Rue - dith
Impresses To:
Inali {Wish}
Egg Name:
Ruby Red Grapefruit Egg
Egg Description:
This very large egg is a ruby red in color, with pale pink heart shaped spots all over it. It is a very smooth egg, and the feeling that a person gets from touching this egg is one of a calm, protectiveness. It is almost as though the inhabitant is more than willing to protect everyone that nears it. Whenever anyone walks by this ruby red egg they feel a kind of pull coming from it, as if it is trying to get you to come near it. This isn't always the best idea since it sits close to Chahaturth's large front paws.
Dragon Appearance:
Hatchling Size:
5ft.
Full Grown Size:
25ft.
Age:
2 turns
Color Codes:
Base: 00581A Camarone
Face: 66FF00 Bright Green
Paws: 093624 Bottle Green
Wings: 7BA05B Asparagus
Underside: 888D65 Avocado
Rudith is as large as a green can get with wings that are two sizes too big for her, but thankfully she has the muscle strength to use those large wings to keep her in the air longer than is actually normal for a green her size. She is quite blocky, all because of her muscles. Her hide is a Camarone green that fades to an avocado green. Her entire face is a bright green that stands out starkly against the darker green Camarone of her body. Her large paws are a bottle green and they actually look like she stepped in some very large cans of bottle green paint. Her wings are the same color as asparagus, but don’t say anything against them or you might just find out what the inside of a dragon really looks like.
Personality:
Positives: Subtle, Intelligent, Confident, Protective
Negatives: Calculating, Cunning, Manipulative, Dominant
Mind-Voice:
Come My Little One, we have a big day ahead of us.
Rudith’s voice is soft and sweet, but there is something hidden beneath that soft sweetness. Some might speculate that there is something malicious hidden there, and some might speculate that there is something almost caring hidden there. Whatever it is no one but her knows and she doesn’t seem inclined to share with the rest of us. All I can say is that her voice is a sweet mystery that seems to wrap around a person’s mind and caress’ it like someone would caress a lover. Whether or not this is how she wants it to seem or how it actually is no one can say for certain, not even her rider.
Reason:
We will show these people that color and size doesn't make the better dragon. No, indeed my pet we will show them that a green and her rider can rule the world!

Impression:
It was a rainy summer's afternoon when the first egg started to rock. Immediately Mivinth and the other dragons took up the hatching song, the eggs had to look forward to. Rushing to pull on her candidate's robe and sandals, Inali made it out to the sands and bowed to the Queen and her rider.
The two didn't even show any hostility to the candidate, instead even Mivinth herself ushered Inali toward her gold egg. As the first egg cracked then broke, a bronze slid out. A bronze first was always a good sign, and Inali clapped when it impressed. More eggs let go of their prisoners, and the hatching went on smoothly, till yet another bronze hatched. This one wasn't regal like is first brother, he was sadistic and mean.
Marching over to his green sister, the larger male ripped into her side when she didn't submit to his will. It was then that the gold egg hatched and in a quick and graceful movement, the newest queen had her brother beneath her feet. Growling low, the gold bit into his neck quickly not letting go. The bronze had killed the green without any reason and he deserved to be put down. Shaking her head, Inali did the unthinkable. She couldn't let the queen kill the bronze no matter how much he deserved it! Shouting out for her to stop, Inali didn't even recognize that she was using the Gold's name until she was next to the pale dragonet.
Of course you know my name My Lady. I am your Loraketh. Inali couldn't believe it, not only had she impressed but to a gold! Yes, you impressed to a gold, what do you think I am a green? Checking her hide just to make sure this wasn't the case, Loraketh hissed as the bronze tried to get up. "No Lore, let him go." Inali forced her will into the gold's mind, but the dragonet resisted. No, My Lady. He has done great a wrong in killing my sister. He must be punished. Inali bit her lip and pulled again at the dragonet's mind. he is a bronze, this is punishment enough to be in this position. Let him go, I am your rider, you will listen to me. With a little croon the gold let the bronze go, the slightly smaller male scrambling up and running away to the male candidates where he impressed immediately. Good, I knew that back bone was in there somewhere My Lady.
The two didn't even show any hostility to the candidate, instead even Mivinth herself ushered Inali toward her gold egg. As the first egg cracked then broke, a bronze slid out.
Threadfall had been disastrous for some of the Weyrs in the first few weeks. No one expected it to come early, but Trelis came back and fought to the best of our abilities. The weyrlings rose to the challenges as well, I knew it was them that I was proudest of. Thinking back on that, I find myself smiling. Loraketh warbled, looking toward the air where the riders had just left to time it to that morning. The Weyr had missed some thread that had strayed over to the smaller islands nearby. The WeyrQueen curled up once more though, for once at ease despite the few dragons in the Weyr. She had adapted well also.
Of course I have My Lady, I am a Queen. We would be fighting too if only we had another Gold to make those bronzeriders confident enough with the risk. Her voice strained with her anger at not being able to do more than relay messages between the different wings. Flight! They are a Flight during 'Fall. The retort made me wince, realizing that the Gold really was sore over the subject.
How is Izanycorth and Hers doing? What about the Sub-Queens? Aren't Talath and Kayath fighting thread today as well? The Queen didn't answer, and at first I thought she had fallen asleep, or was at least lost in thought. The sudden trumpet however brought me straight from that conclusion. Before I could stop her, Loraketh had taken to the air and betweened. "What's going on?!? Where did she go?!?" LORAKETH!
Easy Mine, it's a Blue. He was falling because of an injured wing. I couldn't let him die. The dragoness sent me an image of the blue and his rider. Sighing in relief, I nodded. Away over the ocean the blue crooned thankfully for his rescue. Distracted from trying to keep her charge from more danger, Loraketh didn't notice the thread falling toward her head.
IT BURNS! LILIMINE, MAKE IT STOP! The Queen tumbled tail over wing as she thrashed her injured head about, the blue falling behind her. I gasped, crying out and running to no where. A heart-wrenching cry tore through the Weyr as the Queen betweened to the only safety she knew, the dragons back home sensing the emptiness she left behind.
Falling to my knees, the pain barely registering in the face of the greater injury, I clutched myself tightly and didn't fight the tears that came after. Someone held onto me, but I didn't know who. She's gone......she's really gone.... I wanted to say something, anything. All I could do was stare at my hands and scream.

Green Rudith
Pronunciation:
Rue - dith
Impresses To:
Inali {Wish}
